Two of the best players in the history of the game will fight for ATP Basel title this Sunday. Join us while we analyze this thrilling match and provide the highest value tennis pick.

Roger Federer (1) vs Rafael Nadal (3)
After three tough wins in three sets, Rafael Nadal managed to defeat Richard Gasquet in straight sets to secure a place in ATP Basel’s final. It has been an extremely demanding week for Nadal with several come backs after losing the first set and also down a break. Even in the semifinals match against Gasquet, the Spaniard was a break down in both sets but Richard wasn’t able to close any of them.

Nadal ended the match against Gasquet with very solid numbers: 31 winners / 20 unforced errors. However is important to mention that Richard is a perfect match-up for Rafa, the passive shots from Gasquet gave plenty of time for Nadal to control the points with his forehand. Nadal was able to play very good tennis during the match but still struggles to keep a consistent level with too many unforced errors when compared to his standards.

Roger Federer will play his 10th straight final at Basel and will be looking for his 7th title on this event. We picked Roger as the main contender for the title in our tournament analysis and he’s just one match away from lifting the trophy.

Despite losing one set against Phillip Kohlschreiber and David Goffin, the home favorite never seemed to be in serious dangerous. The courts in Basel are quite fast which suits Federer game style.

There is a huge history between these two players with Nadal leading the h2h 23 – 10, but if we look at the previous meetings on Indoor Hard the Suisse leads 4 – 1.

The Spaniard will try to win his second career title on this game conditions but that seems very unlikely. Nadal will apply the same tactic as always, the crossed forehand to explore Roger’s one-handed backhand but his shots aren’t so depth as they used to be and Federer will take advantage of that. We saw Nadal being overplayed by more aggressive players all week long and Federer game should be just too good for Rafa.

This is a great opportunity for Federer to win his 6th season title and he won’t miss it. For this final we’ve selected Roger’s spread tennis odds as our top tennis pick.
