We reach the final 90 minutes of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, with Real Madrid in a very tough position after their 0-2 defeat in Germany. How will they perform vs. VfL Wolfsburg?

Real Madrid
They know that although they reduced their gap on La Liga to Barcelona, their chances to win the domestic competition are close to zero. Because of that, this Champions League is their only chance of achieving a great result in 2015/2016.

The 1st leg in Germany was quite unusual, with Real Madrid starting the match at good level with some chances to score but after that, Wolfsburg scored two quick goals on their first opportunities. After that, Real Madrid couldn’t return to their game plan with a very poor performance.

Real Madrid has no room for error this Tuesday at Santiago Barnabeu. With a 2-0 victory Zidane’s team forces an extra-time, but their goal is to achieve a three goal margin victory to guarantee a place at the semifinals.

After being in doubt to this game, Benzema is recovered and he should play, which means that Real Madrid will present the usual BBC on their attack.

On the German side, the first leg was perfect, with a penalty and a goal that allow them to manage the rest of the game and approach this 2nd leg in a very comfortable position.

Wolfsburg team saved some key players this weekend against Mainz, in order to have their team at full strength for this clash against Real Madrid. Hecking’s team will start this game in a very good position, trying to explore the space provided by Real with quick transitions. Wolfsburg knows that scoring a goal can be decisive for their success, because Real Madrid will have to score at least four to reach the following stage of the competition.

Betting Overview
We made Real Madrid our Soccer Pick on the first leg and even though we lost it, there are no doubts that they are the better team but on this stage of the competition that’s not all and the slightest distraction can be fatal.

Real Madrid will have to score at least two or three goals while Wolfsburg will try to explore their opponent’s errors, in a match where the counter attack will certainly be the strategy used by the Germans.

The goals market is expecting at least four goals on this match because they believe Wolfsburg can score, with an average price of -143 on the Soccer Odds for them to score. We agree with that due to the quality on Wolfsburg attack and their high intensity.
Looking to a possible correct score for this game, 4-1 or 3-0 are two strong options (the last without Wolfsburg’s goal) for a final result. But we think that Real Madrid shouldn’t sit back with a 3-0 result because one goal from the German team puts them out of the competition.

We think Real Madrid won’t miss as many chances as they did at the Volkswagen Arena and their half-time spread is a valuable odd that we’ll add to our bet slip for this game, since we expect a very strong start that should allow the Spanish team to get ahead very early on this match very and this line will be voided or won.

Looking to the goal scorers, we cannot find any value on Ronaldo to score @-200 but on the other hand, the returned Benzema has the quality to solve this tie and his price at -110 from William Hill is a good one and without doubts the most valuable odd from all three Real Madrid strikers.

Regarding Real Madrid’s victory, their price of -455 is quite low but still interesting for a parlay.

Zidane’s team to qualify is currently offered at +100 and we believe they’ll achieve it yet, it seems safer for us to split our stake between the HT spread and the -2 FT spread.
