The LA Galaxy have a new player, but will he be available to play in the team's first meeting against expansion Los Angeles FC? Let's look at that game and others on Saturday's MLS slate.

Diego Rossi (3 goals) and the expansion Los Angeles Football Club (2-0-0, 6 GF/1 GA) visit the LA Galaxy (1-1-1, 3 GF/3 GA) at 3 p.m. ET. The match is perhaps more important for coach Sigi Schmid and his Galaxy than it is for the unbeaten newcomers. With LAFC having a semi-dream start -- two wins in two matches and a total of one goal allowed -- the pressure will be on the Galaxy and goalkeeper David Bingham (11 saves, 3 goals conceded). The Galaxy are riding an 11-game home unbeaten streak. Check the MLS odds board and expect a defensive battle here between these two sides, who have combined for just 20 shots on target this season.

The Galaxy signed a huge player (literally) to build around, 6-foot-5 Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United). He is recovering from a knee injury and the team was unsure when their 26-year-old designated player would arrive in Los Angeles, although team president Chris Klein wouldn’t rule out the striker's participation in this match. Final score prediction: LA Galaxy 1, Los Angeles FC 1.

Columbus Crew vs. Vancouver WhitecapsFree MLS Picks: Crew -154; 'Over' 2½ -167Best Line Offered: Intertops

Gyasi Zardes (3 goals) and the Crew (3-1-0, 8 GF/3 GA) host Kei Kamara (2 goals) and the Whitecaps (2-1-1, 5 GF/6 GA) in a big interconference game at 3 p.m. ET. In the past six meetings in this series there have been three straight "overs" in games with exactly four goals, and four of the past five matchups have gone "over" the total. The Whitecaps are unbeaten in the last six meetings with the Crew, going 4-2-0 and outscoring Columbus 11-6. However, the Crew have been a different franchise since fearing relocation, and this club hasn’t lost at home since last July. Even though recent trends support Vancouver (+360) in this spot, it makes sense with your soccer picks to back the Crew and their home-field advantage. Final score prediction: Crew 3, Whitecaps 1.

Sporting Kansas City vs. DC UnitedFree MLS Pick: Sporting Kansas City -200Best Line Offered: Intertops

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3411675, "sportsbooksIds":[180,1275,999996,1096,93], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

The home club has scored only one goal in the past five meetings between Sporting Kansas City (2-1-1, 9 GF/9 GA) and DC United (0-2-2, 5 GS/9 GA), with four straight "unders" and United an unbeaten 2-3-0 over that span in this interconference series, which resumes Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Does United have Sporting Kansas City’s number? Playing just one time a season makes it difficult to put too much credence into that idea, but you have to go back to 2015 to find the last SKC score against DC United. With the visiting United playing 12 of their first 14 matches on the road while new Audi Field is being completed, expect SKC to score at least once here. It might be courtesy of Felipe Gutierrez, who already has four goals. Final score prediction: Sporting Kansas City 2, DC United 0.

Colorado Rapids vs. Philadelphia UnionFree MLS Picks: Draw +225; Under 2½, -125Best Line Offered: Intertops

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3411788, "sportsbooksIds":[180,1275,999996,1096,93], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

The Union (1-1-0, 2 GF/0 GA) and GK Andre Blake haven’t allowed a goal this young season, and on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET they visit the Rapids (0-1-1, 3 GF/4 GA). Philadelphia is unbeaten in the last five meetings in the series (2-3-0), outscoring Colorado 8-6. The weather in Denver is expected to be brisk with below-freezing temperatures. Best bring a campfire? Final score prediction: Rapids 0, Union 0.
