Premier League Week 4: Top 3 Soccer Picks

Plenty of goals on the cards for this weeks’ matches.

Newcastle vs Watford

Saturday 31st August at St James’ Park

Less than seven days ago Newcastle were labeled a shambles and had the favorites tag for relegation. An energetic disciplined and unified performance on the road at top four predicted Spurs produced three points and a clean sheet after Joelinton’s 1st goal for the club.

This turnaround has now injected the North East fans with optimism for the coming months. Watford are the visitors whom themselves now sit rock bottom of the Premier League and are still searching their first points.

With the home side being roared on by 52,000 fans and the belief and reward of last weeks exploits, Newcastle Utd could not have asked for a better form of opposition.

Steve Bruce will surely ask his side to just repeat the individual positives achieved in their last outing. I expect a comfortable home win for the Black and White stripes through pace and a confidence tank on the rise. Almost everyone attending will expect to see their hero’s compound more misery on the men from Watford.

Pick: Newcastle Win at +160

West Ham vs Norwich City

Saturday 31st August at The London Stadium

Everyone setting off on their journey to East London for this Premier League encounter will be expecting goals.

West Ham who scored three away at Watford last weekend, will host newcomer’s Norwich who have already recorded six goals themselves. Both sides play on the front foot and go all out to win games.

The philosophy both manager’s try and install in their squads is to enjoy the game by way of no fear and attacking football. Norwich striker Teemu Pukki has hit the ground running and has five goals in three games, quashing any doubts about his ability to score at the top level.

I cannot call the winner of this game, it would be no surprise if both sets of fans witnessed 5-star entertainment that included goals from both sides.

Tip: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at -125

Southampton vs Manchester Utd

Saturday 31st August at St Mary’s

The early kick-off on the South Coast between these two Jekyll and Hyde sides could throw up any combination of eventualities.

Manchester United may be forced into a few changes due to injuries and lackluster performances. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs an immediate reaction to the home defeat by Crystal Palace last time out.

This was the shock result of last week, Week 3 in the Premier League. Southampton returns home from their short trip along the shoreline with three points and a clean sheet against the ten men of Brighton.

Neither of these teams will be cautious, the Saints will look to hit United with the same type of performance they produced in Week 2 against Liverpool. While the visitors are on a run of taking just one point out of the last six (with two missed penalties).

The Red Devils have undoubted quality going forward and must turn up and get a much needed win going into the international break. The win market in this matchup is complete guesswork but I do expect goals.

Pick: Over 2.5 goals in the match at +100
