I never thought I be saying this but the Geordies go into this match against Tottenham looking for their third consecutive win. You might like to know that, after such a recent poor run and as footballer such a fickle mistress Newcastle are now 1/14 to stay up, 11/2 to finish top eight and 15/8 to finish top ten.
You may like to know that Spurs are 10/11 to finish top four, and can count themselves the bookies fourth favourite to win the Premier League but odds of 250/1 might as well be 1000 to 1 but it's nice to know that there are way ahead of Arsenal and not far behind Chelsea.

Enough with the odds about next May…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
The Premier League odds makers have this one down at a Tottenham win, as they have a home victory at 4/6 and I have to say, despite the fact that a draw is offered up 3/1 and a Newcastle wins is at 4/1 I don't think the Geordies will be leaving White Hart Lane with even as much as a point. Tottenham are just that good a side at the moment and they have the sort of momentum that being in the race for a Champions League spot brings, which can't be matched by Newcastle's mission most-probably accomplished job of avoiding relegation.
There is hope for Newcastle as Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe, looks to be at the play after he limped off last weekend in Spurs’ victory against West Bromwich Albion. However I think Spurs are certainly bigger than a single player (just ask West Brom) and you only have to look at the record books to see why I'm backing Spurs with my Premier League picks.
There have been 149 meetings between these sides it’s 62 to Spurs and 54 to Newcastle with 32 draws. The last time this fixture was played it ended 5-0 to Spurs, that score is at a mere 40/1 which is the same as Newcastle winning 3-2, the same score that they beat Chelsea by last weekend.
If you want to bet against me and bookies, you might like to know that a 1-1 draw is available 6/1 with Paddy Power, the same odds as a 1-0 Spurs win with Bet Fred. But don't come crying to me when you lose your wife's shoe fund.
Funnier runs then clowns playing cricket…
It might confuse and confound anybody less smart and your humble handicapper that Newcastle won the last meeting between the sides 2-1, but Spurs won the previous five, but Newcastle won the previous six. F you want to throw caution to the betting wind, take heed that Newcastle's biggest win over Tottenham was the 7-1 thrashing in 1996 and, a repeat of that score is at 500/1 (worth a LOL bet).
Home is where the wins are
This free sports pick owes a lot to the following stats. Newcastle haven’t lost in the league to Spurs at St James’ Park since 2004, but this game is at White Hart Lane. Newcastle have only won once away from home this term in the league, (against Villa 2-1). Spurs have only been defeated twice at home this term , but they have had four draws, winning “just” six home games, the same as Chelsea, Everton ,Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle. Spurs have scored 18 and conceded 12 in 12 games, that’s about 2-1 to the London side. Newcastle have scored 16 and conceded 26 on the road this term, again pointing at 2-1 to the London side.
Premier League Tips & Predictions: Spurs win 2-1 available at 7/1.
