It's a showdown between first and second place in the Premier League. Palace has been excellent so far and will look to outlast City at home, but should we fade betting the better team?

Odds Overview
Despite being the away side this weekend, the Citizens are still classified as favorites for this trip to Selhurst Park. They're listed in the -150 to -175 range to pick up all three points.

If you think Crystal Palace will keep momentum high and notch another impressive result, you can find them available at right around +500. A draw is quoted at +300.

Crystal Palace
If you would have told us the Eagles would be in second place in the Premier League through the first month or so of the season, we'd have said you're crazy. But alas, here we are. Palace has been better than anyone could have predicted, at least in the early goings, and they therefore find themselves behind only Manchester City in the table.

Palace has won three of its first four league matches, overcoming Norwich City, Aston Villa and then saving the best for last in an outstanding 2-1 victory over Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge no less. It was a stunning result, and one that the Eagles thoroughly deserved. Bakary Sako had put Palace up in the 65th minute, but then the Blues got even through a Falcao goal. However, the dramatics weren't over there, as Joel Ward found the back of the net with a scrappy goal in the 81th minute. The Eagles held on for the huge three points.

Manager Alan Pardew may have actually not wanted the international break to come following such a big result, but Palace should be feeling very confident of squeaking out another positive result against another powerhouse this weekend.

Manchester City
The Citizens have skated through the competition so far, winning all four of their matches. They've earned 12 out of a possible 12 points and have yet to allow a single goal this season, but will be facing a pretty tough test at Selhurst Park on Saturday, regardless of how strong they've looked.

We last saw City take the pitch a couple weeks back in a straightforward 2-0 home triumph over Watford. Raheem Sterling got on the scoresheet with a simple finish, as did holding midfielder Fernandinho with an excellent shot in the second half. Both goals were scored in the second half, as Watford simply wasn't able to withstand the pressure.

Having already won twice away from this term (beating Everton 2-0 and West Brom 3-0), City will be feeling like they can get the job done again versus Pardew's crew. The scary part? Star striker Sergio Aguero has only scored once and hasn't yet found his best form. Yikes!

Premier League Pick Preview
As impressed as we've been with the Eagles so far this term, we've been even more impressed with how City has looked. They're looking like the strongest team in the Premier League by a good margin, and they're only going to get better as the season wears on and they get the new signs acclimated.

Palace has been a standout team and has plenty of quality, but you can't quite compare them to the Citizens, who have world class players all over the pitch. It may be too much to ask of the Eagles to earn another victory, regardless of them being at home and enjoying a fine start to their campaign.

So, with our soccer pick, we're going to be adding City and backing them to score the three points and thus stay on top of the Premier League standings. The odds seem fair, and we don't mind taking on a bit of chalk in this instance.
