Manchester United are looking to bounce back against West Brom after two losses and William Hill's Lee Phelps thinks they can, but how does he find value odds for your free betting pick?

Two defeats and suddenly Manchester United are looking more like they will have to qualify to get into next season’s Champions League, meanwhile West Brom are meandering towards the end of the season safe from relegation and unlikely to break into the top 10.

Manchester United
As predicted last week Everton proved to be a very hard nut to crack, with that resolute Goodison defence, but I didn’t see a 3-0 score line. It was interested to see Louis van Gaal’s comments afterwards: "This is the first match that the other team have shown more fighting spirit than us," Van Gaal said.  "Our motivation, inspiration and aggression was not as high as the opponent. When you see the first goal, three duels in a row we lost and that is an example”.

Wayne Rooney looked off colour in that Everton loss, but this is an ideal game for him to get back into scoring form. He has scored in each of his last six Premier League starts against West Brom, netting seven goals in total. Add to that the England captain has scored 15 in his last 16 Premier League games at Old Trafford.

Soccer odds makers realize that that the goals omens are good for the Red Devils, because having drawn two blanks in the last two games, they would have to repeat a feat last achieved in August 2007 if they fail to score in this one.

West Brom
The Baggies have a shocking record against United, having won just one of their last 21 league matches (W1 D4 L16). They have also failed to score in 10 of their last 13 league visits to Old Trafford.

There are some interesting stats revolving around how WBA score their goals and set-pieces feature highly. They have scored 56% of their goals from set pieces and have scored more from corners than any other team (12). Incidentally they have conceded the second most from corners too (10).

This next fact is the key one for me. The Baggies have shipped 11 goals in the opening 15 minutes, the highest number in the Premier League.

Soccer Pick
The reason that stat is so crucial will be obvious to regular readers. I’ve been backing Manchester United to score two or more goals in the first half of their home games with my soccer picks all season with some success. To find out West Brom have let in more early goals than any other team is like music to my betting ears!

It has landed in nine of their 17 home games, with United having scored eight more first half goals than any other team.

Free Soccer Pick: Manchester United to score over 1.5 first half goal 3.75 (11/4)
