Manchester City's Champions League dreams are gone for another year, so we focus on handicapping Premier League. William Hill's Lee Phelps shares Manchester City vs. West Broms' predictions.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men fell out of the Champions League with a bit of a whimper this week, losing to Barcelona. It could have been so much different if Sergio Aguero had scored his penalty, but it’s all about putting as much pressure on Chelsea as possible for City now.

Manchester City
Joe Hart’s heroics weren’t enough against Barca, but he has followed up his display with some stern words about their season and what they need to do: “We are in a really difficult situation at the moment and it's not one we are going to try to get ourselves out of, we will get ourselves out of it," said the England number one.

"That's part of being at Manchester City. We all get talked about. I have been the worst keeper in the world recently and Vinny (Kompany) has been the worst defender in the world. We know who we are and what our objectives are and we aim to win the next nine games. I will never give up, ever, and I can safely say that nobody in our dressing room will ever give up either. We will see where that takes us. We need to show each other and our fans and our people. If people say well done it's great, but proving people wrong has never really been our desire. Our aim is to win things and do well."

Words are easy of course, the proof is on the pitch, but when world class players commit to something I listen.

It’s an ideal game for them given their record against the Baggies, they have won nine and lost none of the last 10, with West Brom getting nothing from any of their last seven trips to the Etihad, drawing the first two and losing the last five in a row. Current Premier League odds favor Man City by -333, West Brom at +1000.

West Brom
Tony Pulis is all about getting a point on the road and I expect him to try to do that again, but he has to be wary of a wounded City and a stat about his own team too. Those placing soccer picks should understand that City have scored four goals inside the first 10 minutes in their last three against West Brom, while they have conceded more goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches than any other side this season (10).

The Baggies work is all but done for the season, with 33 points they will creep over the line and without being disrespectful this game is all about City for me.

Soccer pick
I expect soccer odds underdog Brom to make it hard for City, but to be breached eventually, so I'd go for a 1-0 or 2-0 home win here, with Aguero making up for his penalty miss.
