Manchester City look to take a huge step towards the Premier League title when they host Aston Villa. Will the Citizens come through on their favourable odds or will the Villans runaway improbable winners? Find out as we dissect this match and serve up our free soccer picks for your consideration.

Manchester City’s Title to Loose
Man City advanced their bid for the title this weekend with a solid 3-2 victory over Everton. But they also received a generous helping hand from league-leading Liverpool, who squandered a three-goal lead against Crystal Palace in Monday night’s clash marking week 37 in the EPL betting.

After Monday’s dramatic 3-3 draw between Liverpool and Crystal Palace bobbled into the books–and into the nightmares of Reds' fans the world over tonight, as the thought of how close their beloved Liverpool came to winning the title causes them to toss and turn–the overarching implications are obvious: the Title is now there for Man City's taking.

It’s theirs to win or lose, but more so the former with a brand new price tag of -1400 in Premier League futures betting. A price tag underscored by the fact that the only thing standing between them and getting their grubby hands on the trophy is two measly games – and, the best bit, against lesser opponents Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Indeed, Man City are matched at generous -700 soccer odds to win outright at the Etihad on Wednesday night. Form is back to snuff and, importantly, they are scoring at will once again–their last three games have seen them score eight goals and concede just three. The only concern facing Manuel Pelligrini is Sergio Aguero’s fitness for the game.

Aston Villa Assured Top-Flight Comeback
Despite a disappointing season, Aston Villa are very fortunate to be safe for another term in top-flight. Although they did their part towards that end at the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Hull City at Villa Park, the win marked their first win in seven overall games, first in four at home.

Aston Villa are sat pretty in 14th place with a 10-8-18 mark on the season and 38 points. With just two games left on the season, they have nothing to play for really anymore. Nonetheless, they are faced with two rather interesting prospects. First, they are actually in a position to pull off a double over Man City after taking the 3-2 win at Villa Park earlier this season. Secondly, if they actually win on Wednesday then, in hindsight, they could have a measure of comfort from having beaten the season’s Premier League champions.

There is one additional scenario in which they could play a part in and that is derailing Man City altogether in their title bid, but that rests on the outcome of Man City’s last two games as well as the results of both Liverpool and Chelsea in their last lap around the league.

Man City vs. Aston Villa Match Betting Tips and Picks
It’s hard to look beyond Man City in this match for your soccer picks. First of all, their hefty price tag of -700 speaks loud and clear. Second, they are virtually unbeatable at home having put together a 15-1-1 mark at the Etihad this season.

But don’t Aston Villa strike an awfully tempting pose at whopping +2000 soccer odds to win outright. Simply put the outrageous price tag alone just begs to be tickled. It’s not often that a price tag hovers so high in the Premier League betting that it almost seems impolite of us not to partake in it. Let’s not forget, Aston Villa did beat Arsenal at the Emirates to open the season. Perhaps they would bookend their disappointing season with another shocker. Why not?

Soccer Betting Verdict
Overwhelmingly, a Man City win would appear to be the only logical option in this game. But at -700 soccer odds, those looking to bank on Man City’s so-called likely (expected) win will have to look to other soccer betting markets for value soccer picks. The 'over' 2.5 rings in at a better price of -300 while Man City to win both halves is an even better priced -250.

Of course, for those cautious optimists that have no problem with going against the grain, taking a chance on Aston Villa is definitely well worth it at +2000. Even if conventional wisdom suggests the chance of it actually paying out is slim to none. For those in this circle that are less inclined towards big risk, hedging your bets on the draw at +850 is one option. There is also the draw-Aston Villa double chance option at +500. After all, Crystal Palace denied Liverpool on Monday night.

Fact is Aston Villa might have nothing to play for but they have nothing to lose either. When you think about it, the pressure is all on Man City to deliver. Aston Villa meanwhile can play with freedom and no pressure and that makes them a bit dangerous.

Soccer Free Picks:  Aston Villa at +2000! Why not? The price is just too good to ignore.
