Premier League betting serves up a top-table clash when the unbelievable league-leading Leicester City take on Manchester United. Find out where the value soccer picks are to be had.

Can Leicester City Hold On To Top Spot?
That’s the overriding question when England’s top flight kicks off this weekend with match day 14. If the soccer odds were any indication, the resounding answer is no. The Foxes are slighted something huge across sports betting platforms.

Leicester City are trading at +210 to win at home at William Hill while Manchester United are favoured, albeit at +130 soccer odds. The draw is trading at +240. What this means, in no uncertain terms: they’re expected to fold, be it under the weight of expectation that top of the table brings or simply in the face of the highly fancied Red Devils.

Do the Bookies Have it Right?
There are those that would argue Leicester City have had a rather favourable start to their Premier League campaign behind a modestly challenging schedule. Lauding the fact that through 13 laps in England’s top flight the toughest opponent Leicester City came across was Arsenal, one of several clubs listed amongst the top contenders for the Premier League title in preseason soccer betting markets. That meeting didn’t down well. They lost 5-2 at home.

Nevertheless, it marks their only loss of the season to date, which is nothing to scoff at. Heck, this positive run of form goes back to the end of last term and is nothing short of brilliant. If there’s one thing that standouts out it’s their ability to turnaround matches and come from behind. This season alone they’ve managed to come from behind and clinch points in ten of their 13 games, which is a league-leading record at the mo.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Foxes turned around a 0-2 deficit to Man U last season to win 5-3 before their delirious fans at King Power Stadium. [Insert dramatic shiver].

Don’t Write Off The Home Underdogs
Bookies might not be buying what the Foxes are selling, but that’s no reason for soccer bettors not to.

The Foxes boast an 8-4-1 mark and 28 points, putting them a point ahead of Manchester United and two points ahead of one of pre-season favourites, Manchester City.

Most recently, they are riding a six-game undefeated streak that includes five wins and a draw, four of which are in succession and feature two clean sheets – a 3-0 win over Newcastle United on the road (week 13) and a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at home (week 10).

Admittedly, this latest run of form did feature dates with mostly bottom half opposition such as Norwich City, West Bromwich, Watford and Newcastle United, lending credence to this notion of a light schedule. But that’s a bit churlish. They did come up against top half opposition such as Crystal Palace (10th) and Southampton (8th), beating the former while settling on a 2-2 draw with the latter in one of their ten now infamous come-from-behind accounts.

From now until the New Year the Foxes are going to be tested, beginning with Manchester United this weekend and followed by dates against Swansea City (away), Chelsea (home), Everton (away), Liverpool (away) and Manchester City (away). It remains to be seen where they’ll stack up at the end of the first half of the season. As far as this matchup is concerned, the Foxes have to fancy their chances as the home underdogs to gain a result – be it through the draw or win.

Man United Not So Impervious On The Road
Manchester United are coming off a dull scoreless draw to PSV in midweek Champions League, failing to come through on their favourable Premier League odds and going against wide expectations, including ours.  The main criticism laid at their feet is their ineffective offense that appears in spurts. Wayne Rooney has one goal in seven games while Anthony Martial has one in just eleven games. On the bright side, Man U’s defense is one of the best in the league right now and that makes it tricky for opponents to beat them.

Man United are 8-3-2 on the season, which includes a 4-2-0 mark at home and a 4-1-2 mark on the road. Clearly, they aren’t as impervious to defeat on the road (losses include a 2-1 loss at Swansea and a 3-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates). As well, Crystal Palace, a side Leicester City beat on the road, managed to hold Manchester United to a scoreless draw when they came calling.

Soccer Betting Verdict
At first glance, it’s easy to understand why bookies would favour Man United in this game. They’re the household name, after all. The club with so much tradition of success. And they’re the ones with the precious soccer baubles richly traipsing up and down the field. But what all that amounts to is preconceived notions and nothing else. It's not enough to make Man United a sure-fire soccer pick here.

By that same token, it’s a huge mistake to underestimate the Foxes just because their bench isn’t brimming with the game’s glitterati. Repeatedly they are being snubbed by bookies. Yet, each and every time, they defy the soccer odds and reward their backers on their soccer picks. Whatever formula Ranieri concocted, it’s working. Winning breeds confidence and becomes a habit. They have home advantage – where they did upset Man United 5-3 last season to become the only team to come from behind against the Premier League giants; they have the league’s top scorer Jamie Vardy, who is seeking to set a Premier League record in consecutive games scored; and they have form. They are our soccer pick as a result.

Soccer Picks: Leicester City to win at +210 or to win/draw at -163 at William Hill
