Tottenham take on high-flying Crystal Palace in week 6 of the Premier League. Find out what soccer odds are currently trading and where the value soccer picks are to be had.

Lacklustre Spurs (1-3-1) Still Searching For Form
Tottenham Hotspur enter match day 6 of the Premier League sat in 12th place with six points after a 1-3-1 record, which includes a run of four games undefeated. After opening the season on a 1-0 loss to Manchester United, the Spurs went on to draw Stoke City (2-2), Leicester City (1-1) and Everton (0-0). In their last outing, they finally recorded their first win of the season over Sunderland on the road.

Ryan Mason earned Spurs their first win of the season with a late strike in the 82nd minute, parrying a brilliant pass from Erik Lamela over the head of an advancing Costel Pantilimon. But it was the lone bright spot on an otherwise lacklustre account by the Spurs.  Often they looked clueless and out of ideas, and for the entire first half the absence of any attacking intent (zero shots on target) was most concerning for Mauricio Pochettino.

Adding to his headaches is the growing injury list. Goal-scorer Mason went down with an injury after scoring the game winner, joining Christian Eriksen and Nabil Bentaleb on the IR list. It’s not yet certain whether he will start in Sunday’s London derby with Crystal Palace. Others that are questionable include Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier.

On the bright side, the Spurs are coming off a 3-1 win over Qarabag in Europa League action on Thursday. That marks their first back-to-back winning streak on the season across several competitions, and it could send them into their upcoming clash with Crystal Palace with a measure of optimism. As it is, the Spurs are matched at EVEN money to win outright and the draw is trading at +260 soccer odds.

Although the Lilywhites went down a goal early in Thursday’s Europa League clash, they recovered nicely and, importantly, quickly. Scoring two goals in quick succession in the first half to take the 2-1 lead at halftime; thanks to Pochettino’s precious new signing, Son Heung-min –the most expensive Asian player in the history of the game. Son proved his worth before Spurs’ faithful at White Hart Lane by scoring the double while Lamela added a third goal in the second half.

Crystal Palace Flying High
Alan Pardew’s lads are flying high behind a 3-0-2 mark in Premier League, which puts them all the way up in sixth place in the Premier League table. They opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over Norwich City but fell at home to Arsenal 2-1 the week after. In round 3 of the Premier League, Palace bounced back with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa at home. Then, in the ensuing round, they sent seismic shockwaves through soccer betting markets with a 2-1 upset over Jose Mourinho and the Blues at Stamford Bridge. In the last lap around England’s top flight, Crystal Palace succumbed to Manchester City, but held them to just a 1-0 score.

Overall, Palace have been playing above their heads and nowhere more so than on the road where they are a perfect 2-0-0 in the first five rounds, which includes scoring five goals and conceding two. That run of form makes them a rather tempting soccer pick as the road underdogs this weekend, trading at +300 soccer odds.

Soccer Betting Verdict
Tottenham haven’t fully figured things out yet, which makes them a rather risky play at EVEN money for the outright win. Crystal Palace have been punching above their weight class, particularly on the road. Although there’s a feeling that they’ll eventually come back down to earth at the moment they have confidence, which makes them a worthwhile soccer pick at +300 soccer odds to win outright.
