Burnley is already destined to be relegated, but will still want to leave the Premier League on a positive note. Will the Clarets or Villains get the nod with our soccer picks?

Odds Overview
Right now we see the Villains at right around +105 or so on the soccer odds, as they look to secure three points in front of their beloved supporters at Villa Park.

That means we see Burnley as quite a hefty underdog, with the away side quoted at close to +300. Meanwhile, a draw can be found at just over +250 on the Premier League betting odds.

Aston Villa
The Villains have ensured their safety for next season, thanks in large part to a fine finish which has seen them outright win four of their last six matches, five of which came in league play. They've beaten Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton and West Ham along the way, so it's not like they've been taking advantage of a weak schedule or anything. Villa has been able to get the best of some very talented outfits in recent weeks.

That being said, many are going to be scared away from backing the Villains after the embarrassing display they put forth in their most recent outing. They were completely dominated by Southampton in a 6-1 away loss, a defeat that they're not going to soon forget. Whenever you get outplayed in that manner, you always have to be a little worried with what kind of mentality they'll come out with in the next fixture.

Still, Villa should find things much easier this weekend back at home against a much friendlier opponent in Burnley. That's especially true now with the form Christian Benteke has been in - we wouldn't be surprised whatsoever to see him find the back of the net at least once again on Sunday.

Burnley
They certainly gave it their best, but the Clarets simply couldn't hang with the big boys this season in the top flight. They find themselves in 19th place in the standings heading into Championship Sunday and there's no way out of the relegation zone. They'll be competing in the Championship next season.

It's certainly been a season full of ups and downs, though it's mostly been downs, especially here of late. The Clarets have recorded one win, one draw and five losses over their last seven matches overall, and that rough spell ensured their spot in the bottom three, with no way out ahead of the final weekend.

With the tenacity we've seen out of Burnley this season, despite their shortcomings, we expect a determined effort in the finale here, with Danny Ings leading the way. Ings has been rumored to join Liverpool, with other bigger clubs also in the running to sign the striker, and he'll be eager to close out his highly effective campaign (10 league goals) with at least one more goal to his name.

Premier League Pick
We imagine this will be a dogfight as Burnley tries to exit the Premier League with their heads held high. They've been huffing and puffing with their best effort all season long, and it's been rare to see them get completely outclassed.

Should we expect more of the same on Sunday for our soccer picks? We don't see why not. It's clear Villa has been the better of the two sides recently, but Burnley does have some good talent, namely in the form of Ings and Trippier, so they could pose some problems here.

However, while we do expect a close match, we have to take Villa to outlast the visitors en route to the win and three points. Benteke has been on top of his game lately and we look for him to lead the Villains to the victory, with those short soccer betting odds only sweetening the pot further.

Pick: Aston Villa 2 Burnley 1

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":299925, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
