Both Swansea City & Newcastle settled for 2-2 draws in their 1st Premier League matches of the season, and now the two sides will meet up this weekend. Our soccer odds preview can be located inside.

Odds Overview
Believe it or not, the Swans are one of the biggest favorites on the Premier League odds board for this weekend. The lines aren't crazy high or anything, as Swansea City can be backed at right around -105, but this match does set up nicely as one they can win at home.

For those that think Newcastle will be well worth backing as underdogs, you could be handsomely rewarded if you take the chance. The Magpies are quoted in the +325 to +350 range to pick up all three points, with a draw seeming a little more likely at roughly +225 or so.

Swansea City
Whenever you leave Stamford Bridge with a point, you have to be pretty darn happy. We'll assume that's the case with Swansea City, who put forth one of the most impressive displays in last week's Premier League action. The Swans gave Chelsea everything they could handle in the 2-2 draw in London.

Naturally, Swansea City was a massive underdog in the eyes of many, but you wouldn't have been able to tell by the performance. Andre Ayew showed some great composure on his way to a goal during his club debut, and Bafetimbi Gomis also got in on the goalscoring action, to the frustrations of the Blues. Other standout performances came from center midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and winger Jefferson Montero, both of whom made a lot happen in attack for Swansea.

The addition of Ayew looks like it'll work out nicely, and bagging a goal in your Premier League debut certainly isn't going to hurt confidence. He'll be hoping to make another great impression in his home debut for the club this weekend. The Swans were quite good at home in league play last season, mustering up a 9-5-5 record while only allowing a total of 22 goals in that span.

Newcastle
Like the Swans, the Magpies also finished at a 2-2 deadlock, with their draw coming at home against a strong Southampton team. Newcastle went down in the 24th minute but then scored twice in the span of six minutes (Papiss Cisse and Georgino Wijnaldum) to go up 2-1, a lead they'd go on to relinquish in the 79th minute.

Considering Newcastle was just over 10 minutes away from earning all three points, giving up that late goal was a bummer, but overall the Magpies didn't do anything to embarrass themselves in their league opener.

Wijnaldum immediately stepped in to the starting XI after his move to the club over the summer, while Aleksandar Mitrovic came off the bench to make his team debut. It's going to be interesting to see how the attack works itself out with the new arrivals, but the early returns were promising against the Saints.

Premier League Pick
After watching the Swans battle the defending champions and look excellent doing so, it's hard not to like their chances here this weekend. They'll be at home, where they've picked up a number of outstanding wins over the years, and they'll come up against a Newcastle side that's prone to complete disappointments.

It looks like the Swans have found a system and squad that meshes well together, and they should be able to do just enough to walk away with all three points versus the Magpies. Newcastle has made some big changes to the squad and it could take some time for the Magpies to gel.

So, with our final soccer picks, let's add Swansea City to keep momentum going with a hard-fought victory, particularly since we don't have to cough up a pretty penny to do just that. Back the Swans.

Premier League Pick: Swansea City 2 Newcastle 1

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2873036, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
