Both teams managed to escape with league cup wins during the week, but neither has managed to pick up a win in Premier League play this season. Let's examine the soccer betting odds.

Odds Overview
Oddsmakers are set on the Potters bouncing back nicely, as they've listed the home team at right around -105 to pick up all three points this weekend. It hasn't been a great start for Stoke, but will that change on Saturday?

If you're on the other side here and believe West Brom may be worth siding with, you can find a nice price in the +300 to +350 range at most of the top sportsbooks. A draw is quoted at roughly +250.

Stoke City
It took a while, but the Potters were finally able to earn their first win of the season this week, although it did come in the Capital One Cup against a League Two outfit. What's more, it took Stoke City extra time and then penalties to get the job done.

With an eye on this weekend's Premier League clash, Mark Hughes rested a number of his key players against Luton Town, and it almost came back to bite him. The Potters' blushes were spared after a tense penalty shootout which saw them escape as 8-7 victors. Geoff Cameron's successful conversion sealed the deal for Stoke.

Obviously, Hughes will be hoping his outfit can use that victory, no matter how ugly, to good use and make it two in a row with another win, this time at home against West Brom. The Potters have been less than convincing in league action so far, losing to Liverpool and drawing with Tottenham and Norwich City, but this weekend's match sets up as their best opportunity yet to grab three points for the first time in 2015-16. For what it's worth, Mame Biram Diouf has been the most influential man in front of goal so far for Stoke.

West Brom
The Baggies had an eerily similiar performance in their Capital One Cup match on Tuesday, as they needed penalties to advance over League One side Port Value, at home no less. West Brom went 5-for-5 from the spot to win 5-3 in penalties and move on to the third round, and in the end that's all that really matters.

In terms of their Premier League results, the Baggies have been pretty disappointing. They've lost to Manchester City (3-0) and Chelsea (3-2) and had to settle for a 0-0 draw away to newly-promoted Watford. It's safe to say this hasn't been the start that manager Tony Pulis would have wanted.

The last week has, at least, been somewhat more encouraging, as the Baggies did battle really hard and make a good account of themselves against the Blues before picking up that win over Port Vale. James Morrison was the one behind both of West Brom's goals against Chelsea and now turns his attention to this visit to the Hawthorns.

Premier League Pick
Many may jump on the chance to back the Potters at an appealing price, but we haven't been very impressed with their play so far this season. Meanwhile, West Brom has had to play two of the best three teams in the Premier League in Chelsea and Manchester City, and they almost got the better of the Blues.

We believe the Baggies are better than people give them credit for, so with our soccer picks we're going to back them to get at least a draw out of this fixture.

The Brittania is never an easy place to visit and leave with a positive result, but West Brom will be ready for this match, and we believe the draw (at right around +250) may be the best route to take.

Soccer Pick: Stoke City 1 West Brom 1
