Hull City

A dream of a season for the Tigers has continued after booking a trip to Wembley in the F.A. Cup. They had no issues scooting past Sunderland in a 3-0 cup win last weekend.

After a rather uneventful first half, Hull took control in the second, getting goals from Curtis Davies, David Meyler and Matty Fryatt all in a 10 minute span. It was a scintillating performance from Steve Bruce's men.

There was no better way to respond for the Tigers after a dreadful 4-1 home loss to Newcastle in the Premier League the week prior.

Hull may be dreaming big in terms of their F.A. Cup semi-final appearance, but supporters still know they have a fight on their hands to avoid relegation. Right now they're in a pretty good position, five points clear of the bottom three, but that doesn't mean they can start getting lackadaisical.

All looks well for the Tigers right now though. They brought in two strikers who know how to score in Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic and those two could end up being the difference for Bruce's side.

Manchester City

It feels like an eternity since the last time we saw the Citizens play a Premier League match.

Indeed it's been a while. They've been busy in the Champions League, F.A. Cup and Capital One Cup, meaning their last league encounter was all the way back on February 22nd.

City, however, has been knocked out of both Europe and the F.A. Cup all in the matter of days, so they can now shift a lot more focus onto their league campaign. As of now, they're nine points back of Chelsea in fourth place, though they have three matches in hand. Those counting out City for the league title should re-consider.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Citizens respond after losing to Barcelona in mid-week. They were hit even harder with the injury to Sergio Aguero, who had to come off at halftime. It remains to be seen how long the star striker will be out.

That leaves Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko as the main candidates to lead the line. Together they've combined for 16 league goals on the year, though it's Negredo that's almost guaranteed to be the first-choice option in attack.

Premier League Picks for Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Premier League Pick

This will be City's third competitive match in a span of six days. How will they handle the occasion?

We reckon the Citizens will put on a good show here, though we don't expect it to be easy whatsoever against a Hull outfit that's been inspired under Bruce.

Still, quality shines through more often than not and, even with Aguero out, City has other options to lean on. As an example, they brought on Negredo, Dzeko and Jesus Navas off the bench in the Barcelona match, so the depth is most certainly there. They've also been playing a lot better away from home as of late.

With that in mind, we'll be recommending a hard-fought win and three points for the Citizens as one of our free soccer picks.
