Everton and Fulham square off in week 16 EPL betting and predictably Everton have the sports betting markets cornered. Find out where the angles for profit can be found.

Everton hot favourites

Everton continue to defy the soccer odds, remaining the only team to have lost one solitary fixture through 15 laps. Sat pretty in fifth place, Everton boast a 7-7-1 mark and 28 points, just a point shy of fourth placed Man City and two points shy of Liverpool and Chelsea in second and third, respectively. Now with an upcoming date against a hapless Fulham, Everton are almost assured three points and a potential spot in the league’s Top 4, dizzying stuff indeed for Roberto Martinez and his Toffees.

Everton return to Goodison Park from a two-game road stretch that saw them defeat Manchester United at the Old Trafford and settle on a 1-1 draw to league-leading Arsenal at the Emirates. Both results add to their unbeaten stretch, which stands at eight games in a row since a 3-1 defeat to Man City on the road on October 5th.

Predictably, Everton are installed as the -300 favourites to win outright at Bet365 when they host Fulham. Sublime form as well as an attractive attacking football that has yielded 23 goals and conceded 14 across 15 laps around the league underscores those odds. Oh, not to mention boasting a lethal striker – Chelsea castoff, Romelu Lukaku, ranks fourth in the league’s top goal scorers with eight goals behind Luis Suarez (14), Sergio Aguero (12) and Daniel Sturridge (9).

Fulham woeful underdogs

Sportsbooks send woeful Fulham on equally woeful soccer odds of +800 to win outright at Goodison Park on Saturday. A market stance that is hardly surprising given their season to date.

Fulham are mired in the relegation quagmire, sat in 18th place on 13 points they are level with 19th placed Crystal Palace and five points clear of Sunderland, a side that continues to happily prop up the league.

Fulham are after a solid 2-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend, a result that proved sportsbooks did release an appropriate market for their clash after all. New head coach Meulensteen did manage to have an impact. Even coax more goals out of the Fulham’s stuttering offense than we’ve seen in a long while. Go figure.

The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak across all competitions, six in a row in Premier League. It also marked their fourth overall win on the season and second home win, improving their overall form to 4-1-10 on the season.

Certainly, the Cottagers looked a much better side against Fulham, not the same side that lost six in a row, scored three goals and conceded 16 goals. In fact they played to the level one would expect of such a talented side that boasts former Man U player Berbatov and so on. But it’s obvious that odds makers aren’t putting much stock in that result. Well, not to the extent that it would suggest Fulham are ready to mastermind one of the biggest upsets of the season and hand Everton their first home defeat. Everton (4-3-0) remain one of three sides undefeated at home – Chelsea (6-1-0) and Man City (7-0-0) being the other two.

Of course beating Everton at home wouldn’t rock sports betting markets as much as a win over Chelsea or Man City would when both have a much better home record than the Toffees do. But it would cause a conspicuous tremor nonetheless given Fulham’s dubious season so far so and the fact that it’s so unexpected, evinced by their hefty +800 underdog odds at Bet365.

Soccer Betting Verdict: Fulham did show positive signs last week and that augurs well in the broad spectrum of the season. It remains to be seen whether that means they can transcend Everton at home where the Toffees have been very solid indeed.

Seems unlikely given how well Everton have been playing, especially in recent weeks with a win over former boss David Moyes and his shiny Reds at the Old Trafford and a draw to league-leading Arsenal at the Emirates. Those results are hard to ignore. Suggest a kind of confidence that Fulham certainly don’t appear to have the measure of this season.

Of course, for those looking to back Fulham regardless, believing the win over Aston Villa signals a corner has been turned. The best option has to be the draw at +400 – it satisfies any upside Fulham might have as well as Everton’s solid form. For our part, Everton to win outright at -300 at Bet365 is our recommended play. To add value to our soccer picks, we recommend a play on the Over 2.5 at -163. Soccer Picks
