Two teams who have started well this season meet at Goodison Park, so who will come out on top. Our capper has been looking at the stats, head-to-heads and odds for a free betting pick.

It’s been a great start to the season for Manchester City, with a resounding win against Mourhino’s Chelsea already putting them two points ahead of last season after drawing twice with Chelsea. Everton have four points too, which they probably would have expected to come with a win over Watford and draw at Southampton, but who cares at Goodison!

Everton
Everton had their worst year defensively since 2003/04 last season under Roberto Martinez and you would have to be worried with Manchester City coming to town. Admittedly they kept a clean sheet at Southampton, but they still allowed Saints to have 14 shots on goal and did conceded two to newly-promoted Watford, coming from behind twice.

If John Stones leaves, as many are predicting, Everton’s problems may worsen through the season. They will find it difficult to be defensive at home, with their excellent home support and this will only play into City’s hands.

Manchester City
It appears Manuel Pellegrini has had some positivity training in the off-season and has vowed to let his team attack. So far, so good with back-to-back 3-0 wins. Another three goals wouldn’t be a huge surprise here, given that Everton let in two against Watford.

When Vincent Kompany plays well, City do too and his goal-scoring start to the season can only spell good news. The club have strengthened this week too, with Argentina defender Nicolas Otamendi joining from Valencia on a five-year deal.

We won’t see Otamendi at Goodison Park, with Eliaquim Mangala keeping his place alongside Kompany.

Soccer Picks
Everton do have a good recent record against City at Goodison Park, losing one of the last six there and two of the last 17 and we usually see goals too.

I can’t see how Everton will outscore City and for that reason for this soccer pick, I’m taking an away win and the best forward in the division to score too.

Free Soccer Pick: Sergio Aguero to score & Manchester City win 3.0 (2/1) at William Hill.
