It’s a scintillating weekend for the Premier League. Join our weekly predictions, where we run down the soccer odds available across the board and offer free picks for each and every fixture.

Manchester City improved to a perfect 6-0-0 record behind a 3-1 win over Swansea on Saturday. Going into match day 7, Pep Guardiola’s side remains the only club to enjoy a winning start to the season. (Is anybody surprised?) Everton succumbed to their first defeat at Bournemouth and will be looking to bounce back this weekend, while Chelsea is desperate to snap the negative trend after slipping to a second consecutive defeat (3-0 to Arsenal) and a third winless fixture in domestic action.

After yet another winning week in Premier League Soccer picks (finishing 6-4 win-loss overall), the tally on the season improves to 36-24 win-loss for this column. So we’re back again this week with another set of Premier League previews and tips for your soccer picks.

Friday, September 30, 2016Everton vs. Crystal Palace

Although Everton is coming off their first league loss, they are actually coming off a second consecutive defeat. They lost to Norwich City in League Cup action before the 1-0 loss away to Bournemouth on match day 6. Is it a reason for Toffee fans to panic? Not really. Ronald Koeman’s era at Goodison Park is off to a bright start as the Merseyside club is sat pretty in fifth place in the table but level on 13 points with Arsenal (3rd) and Liverpool (4th). Needless to say, it was their first defeat in the top flight and with a home date this weekend they have every opportunity to bounce back.

Crystal Palace fans must be pinching themselves right about now. Finally, Alan Pardew’s side is enjoying a positive run of form that includes three wins and a draw. (Bet he’s pinching himself too). It’s a long time coming, the first run of such positive results in this calendar year.

Clearly, Palace has formed so it’s possible they might actually keep the ball rolling and surprise the Toffees at Goodison Park. Still, it’s a long shot soccer pick trading at +435 soccer odds with various top-rated sportsbooks such as Pinnacle and 5Dimes (to name a few).

What is a bit of a worry, is their porous defence and inability to keep clean sheets, which plays right into the hands of Koeman’s offensive morsels? As well, after the Spurs the Toffees are the second best defensive-minded side in the league with just four goals conceded through six fixtures. (Spurs beat Crystal Palace 1-0 earlier this season at White Hart Lane).

Saturday, October 1, 2016Swansea City vs. Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s side is soaring behind a three-game winning streak (four in a row undefeated) and includes wins over Leicester City and Chelsea and lots and lots of goals. Over the last three fixtures, the Reds shipped 11 goals combined and conceded just 3. Overall, they are the second-best offense after Man City (18 goals) with 16 goals. Swansea City is coming off back-to-back losses to Southampton and Man City. From their last five fixtures, they’ve only managed to secure a point after holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw. Undoubtedly, the Reds are the smart soccer pick to win this fixture given form. Best price currently trading on a Liverpool win is found at Bet Online where the Reds are priced at -213 soccer odds for the away win. For those looking for better value for their buck, backing the totals offers a more tempting angle for profit.

Free Soccer Pick: Over 3 -110

Hull City vs. Chelsea

Antonio Conte will be keen to snap his side’s negative trend and a date with Hull City is just the sort of fixture he’ll relish. The perfect punching bag for the Blues to let off steam following the abysmal 3-0 loss to Arsenal last weekend. The Tigers are lightweights and favoured to be relegated by season end in Premier League outrights. Current form includes three defeats in their last four (most recently, they were decimated by Liverpool in a 5-1 defeat. Ouch).

Obviously, the notion Chelsea should win this game is a reasonable one, underlined by their hefty soccer odds of -200 or thereabouts. But that’s a pricey bet considering the Blues recent form that includes back-to-back defeats in their last two and just a point gained in their last two away fixtures. We’re not biting and instead of looking at total soccer odds for better profit angles.

Free Soccer Pick: Over 2.5 -137

Sunderland vs. West Bromwich Albion

The Black Cats continue the search for their first league win on Saturday. Might Tony Pulis proffer such a lifeline to David Moyes? Hmmm…not likely. The Baggies are a tough nut to crack – as Pulis-managed-teams typically are – and that’s sure to give Sunderland trouble. On the flipside, the Black Cats look disorganised and unfocused. Through six laps of the Premier League, four fixtures featured three or more goals including last weekend’s 3-2 loss to Crystal Palace. Against defensive-minded opponents such as Spurs and Toffees, they lost by a combined score of 4-0. West Brom is 1-1-1 on the away this season.

Free Soccer Pick: West Brom to win or draw at -175

Watford vs. AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth surprised Everton in a 1-0 win last weekend and will be looking to continue the momentum at the expense of Watford, who were defeated by Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday. That said the loss to Burnley snapped a two-game winning streak which included wins over West Ham and Manchester United, a couple of eyebrow-raising wins. By all accounts, this fixture could go either way. Oddsmakers serve up Watford as the favourites at home albeit just above EVEN money at +140 while, at the same time, serving Bournemouth on +200 or higher soccer odds (depends on your preferred bookmaker). For our money, we’re leaning towards a total bet.

West Ham United vs. Middlesbrough

West Ham United are in a tough spot, stuck in the relegation quagmire with just three points through six fixtures thanks to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth in August. They are riding a four-game losing streak and each and every fixture recorded three goals or more combined. Middlesbrough started brightly but have since regressed and now are riding a three-game losing streak. They’ve can’t stop conceding goals either with their last three losses combining for three goals or more too. That leads us to a bet on both teams to score for our recommended soccer pick here. Seems sound.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City

The Spurs are the best defence according to the Premier League stats while the Citizens are the best offense according to the stats. So which side of the ball will dominate on Sunday when these top clubs collide at White Hart Lane? The quality of Man City’s attack has broken down defences already across Europe so it’s likely that offense will be the underlying theme that propels the entire 90 minutes of this fixture.

Soccer Pick: Both Teams to Score, Yes -175

Man United vs. Stoke City

Manchester United snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Leicester City. Stoke City only recorded their second draw of the season (0-2-4) when they held the Baggies to a 1-1 draw at the Potteries. The form is against the Potters in this one, prompting ridiculous soccer odds on Man United to win at home that ranges anywhere from -300 or higher. Not worth the tickle on your wagering tickets. Surprisingly, a win to nil by the Red Devils is trading at a tempting +120 with Bet Victor and looks to be worth a tickle.

Leicester City vs. Southampton

Leicester City bounced back from a 4-1 defeat to Man United in midweek Champions League action. They defeated a solid Porto side 1-0 at King Power Stadium to improve to a perfect 2-0-0 in Europe’s top-flight competition. Look for Claudio Ranieri’s side to continue that solid form against the Saints, who may be riding a two-game winning streak in domestic action but are also coming off a Thursday Europa League date with Hapoel Be’er Sheva. The travel is a bugger.

Burnley vs. Arsenal

Arsene Wenger’s Gunners are rounding out into form and soaring behind a four-game winning streak which includes a 3-0 win over Chelsea last weekend. Burnley, meanwhile, bounces from one inconsistency to another from week to week. Earlier in the season, they stunned Liverpool 2-0, so they can’t be taken lightly. They are coming off their second win of the season, a 2-0 win over Watford. Arsenal may be a different class but Burnley’s unpredictability make it a dangerous floater. Where the Clarets might make an impression is on the defensive side of the ball where they’ve only conceded eight goals this season.

Free Soccer Pick: Under 2.5 goals +113
