Best Book: William Hill
I love midweek matches but the frenetic fixture schedule can throw up a few shocks that hurt the wallet. I’m being careful, as ever, and looking to make sure that we come out of this 21st round of Premier League games with a profit.
The first of my three selections for this round is in the Tuesday night game between Arsenal and Cardiff. The odds are way too low to be backing Arsenal but with their injury worries and slight lack of cohesion at the back I think I’ve found a tip that should pay off for us.
I’m going for Both Teams To Score and Betfair are currently offering +100 on both sides letting a goal past their keepers.
You do have to bear in mind the commission you will pay form using Betfair but it’s still considerably better than using the next best option which is the -118 on offer with William Hill.
I’m really tempted to back Wolverhampton Wanderers against West Ham but there is no real value there and the Hammers could be feeling a bit hurt after their Cup loss to AFC Wimbledon. An interesting one but one to skip for me.
My second bet is in the Southampton v Crystal Palace game on Wednesday. Southampton were one of very few Premier League teams to get a rest at the weekend after they went out of the FA Cup in the third round. Crystal Palace ensured that Tottenham will also be having a rest in the fifth round and they did so with a few players rotated to keep some energy in their legs.
My third and final bet is in the Bournemouth v Chelsea game and this should be a really entertaining match with both sides paying an attractive style of football. In the end, I think Sarri’s men will edge it as they have an expensively assembled squad led by a manager I rate very highly. I think Eddie Howe’s time will come and we’ll be talking about him for a long time but in this one I just feel he is outgunned.
Pinnacle is offering -152 on the away win and I think that’s my lowest odds away bet of the season.
Enjoy the football and bet sensibly. I’ll see you on the other side.
