Fresh off a big cup win over rival Seattle, the Timbers will be feeling good heading into Saturday's clash with the Dynamo. We've broken down the MLS soccer odds inside.

Odds Overview
The Timbers are the clear-cut favorites on the soccer odds board, as they're trading at right around -150 to win and secure all three points. Currently in fourth place in the Western Conference, Portland needs a good result this weekend to keep pace with the other top teams surrounding them

As for the visitors, the Dynamo aren't being given much of a chance. They can be backed at a price in the +425 to +450 range, while a draw is approaching +300 at most of the top sportsbooks.

Portland Timbers
Having won four straight matches across all competitions, it's clear the Timbers are in great form heading into the weekend. As a result of their improved play, they've moved up into fourth place in the highly competitive Western Conference; they're only behind Seattle, Vancouver and Sporting Kansas City.

More recently, Portland has picked up consecutive wins over DC United (1-0), Colorado (2-1), New England (2-0) and Seattle (3-1), with the latest victory coming in the U.S. Open Cup. It was a testy affair against the rival Sounders, and the match was finally decided in extra time; of course, Seattle getting three red cards and having another player limp off late didn't exactly help matters. Needless to say, the Timbers got goals from Rodney Wallace and Maxi Urruti in the extra period to guide them to the W.

What we know about the Timbers is their formidable home support. Ahead of Saturday, Portland has lost just one time over their last 13 home matches, which bodes well for this visit of Houston. The Timbers are unbeaten over three straight inside their own stadium and will look to make it four this weekend.

Houston Dynamo
Like the Timbers, the Dynamo have looked good in recent weeks, also having not lost over their last three matches. They beat the New York Red Bulls 4-2 and tied New York City FC 1-1 in league play and then beat the Austin Aztex 2-0 in the U.S. Open Cup.

Despite some solid play recently, Houston is still languishing in seventh place in the Western Conference. The Dynamo have logged five wins, five draws and five defeats through their first 15 league matches, to go with a goal differential of +2. There's still a long way to go obviously, but Houston needs to keep stringing together positive results if they want to move up the standings and make a run at the playoffs.

The Dynamo have been getting most of their goalscoring production from two sources: Will Bruin and Giles Barnes. Bruin leads the team with seven goals, with Barnes not far behind with six to his name. No other player within the club has scored more than three goals ahead of Saturday's showdown in Portland.

MLS Pick
We're inclined to agree with the prices laid out by oddsmakers, as the Timbers are in a great spot to win here at home this weekend.

Not only is Portland in great form, but this is a team that performs at a very high level on their own field, and we expect that to continue a Dynamo side that hasn't been able to find its highest gear away from home. Houston has won just one out of its last six matches outside of Houston, which doesn't bode well for this upcoming trip to the west coast.

The Timbers have built up some momentum in recent weeks and have looked especially strong defensively, and that should be a solid foundation for them against Houston. Back Portland with your MLS soccer picks for the weekend.
