To add some more NBA Odds excitement to a huge night with 14 games on the schedule, SBR handicappers Swinging Johnson and Jordan Sharp are having a contest starting with their NBA Picks.
Wolves vs. Bulls
The loss of Derrick Rose has the city of Chicago down in the dumps, but hopefully after surgery today there might be a little more room for optimism. However that won’t help the Bulls tonight, as they welcome in the Minnesota Wolves. The NBA Odds have the Bulls as -6 ½ favorites this evening, with a total of 195. Chicago was bad at home with Rose in the lineup, and now without him I can’t see them blowing out the Wolves here. Minnesota has been playing well recently with their newfound health and acquisition of the league’s best hype-man, Kevin Garnett. I could easily see them covering here against Chicago.
The Wolves have covered five of their last seven games, and they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games as underdogs. On top of that, they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against winning teams.
The Bulls on the other hand are only 11-18 ATS at home this season, and they are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games as favorites. On top of that, they have been playing down to their competition badly this season. Losses to inferior teams have tainted their record, and I think it happens again tonight at least ATS. The Bulls are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games against losing teams, and they are only 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games against losing clubs.

Thunder vs. Blazers
Oklahoma City lost last night in Phoenix despite a huge triple-double from Russell Westbrook, and now they travel up north from Phoenix to Portland. The NBA Odds have the Blazers as solid -4 ½ favorites with a total of 207 points. The Thunder are still without Kevin Durant, and while he was spotted taking some jump shots the other day, there is still no timetable for his return. However despite playing last night and being without Durant, I think the Thunder could be a great play this evening.
The Blazers haven’t played great against the West elite this season. Even after their win against the Spurs this past Wednesday, (more so on the Spurs playing badly than the Blazers playing well) Portland is only 8-10 SU this season playing against West playoff teams. On top of that, they are only 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as favorites. Portland has also had trouble recently stringing together consecutive ATS wins. They are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS win.
The Thunder on the other hand have remained hot. They were on a seven game ATS winning streak up until last night, and they are 4-0 ATS in their last four games after giving up 100 points or more. OKC has also been really good on no rest recently. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on no rest. For your NBA pick, take the points with the more talented team tonight.
NBA Pick: Thunder +4 ½
