Can Southampton bounce back when they welcome Swansea City to St. Marys at the weekend, marking their second home game in as many weeks? Here’s our preview, complete with soccer free picks.

Southampton Slipping Steadily
Southampton are coming off a heart breaking 3-2 loss to the Red Devils on match day 6 at St, Mary’s. There was nothing that Ronald Koeman’s lads didn’t leave undone in the game, throwing the kitchen sink at Manchester United. Tale told, they were bested by the world class goal keeper David De Gea and the most expensive teenager in England, Anthony Martial, who scored twice to lift the Red Devils to the victory.

On the balance of six rounds of top flight action, the Saints aren’t in good shape behind a 1-3-2 mark and just six points. They are sat in 16th place, just three points clear of the Stoke City in 18th place and the drop zone. Offensively, they’ve had their share of struggles scoring just seven goals in six games. On the defensive side of the ball, they’ve been better with just 8 goals shipped, three of which came just last weekend against Man U.

Swansea City Enjoying Top Ten Position
Swansea City are enjoying life in Premier League after six rounds. They boast a 2-3-1 record in six games and 9 points, which puts them in ninth place, but a point behind fifth placed Arsenal (just to put some perspective on the close proximity of the Top 10 field. Most recently, they are coming off a 1-0 loss to Hull City in League Cup action (Tuesday), which marks their second away loss in a row.

Encouragingly, Swansea City have lost just one game this season in league action. Less encouragingly, they lost to promoted Watford on the road in round five – they must have seriously underestimated their opponents then considering they beat Manchester United the week prior 2-1 at home. In the last lap around the league, Swansea City settled on a scoreless draw to Everton at home.

Soccer Betting Verdict
There is no real clear-cut favourite in this game. Southampton are at home, but they are just 1-0-2 at home with a minus 1-point differential after scoring five and shipping six. As a result, they are trading at EVEN money with most sportsbooks.

Swansea City, however, are yet to win on the road this season; they boast a 0-2-1 mark, which includes dubious loss to Watford and 1-1 draw to Sunderland. That said they were the orchestraters of the first big upset of the season when they held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in their season opener. One thing is certain, Swansea City play up to their opponents and that makes them a dangerous side in the league. That said Swansea City are matched as the +276 road underdogs and the draw is trading at +250 soccer odds. For our money, we’re backing the draw on our soccer picks.
