The Red Devils have added some new weapons to their arsenal, but they face a tough first test against Tottenham at home. Let's review the soccer betting odds.

Odds Overview
The Red Devils, to no one's surprises, are the favorites on the soccer odds board for Saturday's battle royale with Tottenham. This is easily the most enthralling match of the opening weekend, but it's United that holds the chalk at approximately -150.

We find Tottenham listed at +500 (Bovada currently has +400 available), with a draw in the +275 to +300 range.

Manchester United
Last season was one to forget for the Red Devils.

Louis Van Gaal found out just how difficult the Premier League can be last season, but all in all, United did improve as the season wore along and managed to finish in fourth place, thus booking their spot in Champions League qualifying. The Red Devils were poor in competitions, however, as they bowed out of the F.A. Cup in the sixth round and were embarrassed in the second round of the Capital One Cup. Wayne Rooney had a decent season, finishing atop the squad with 14 goals across all competitions, but it was a letdown of a campaign overall for United.

The Red Devils, however, enter the 2015/16 campaign in full steam, and they've bolstered their ranks with some excellent additions. Yes, Robin Van Persie and Nani, among others, have left, but United has brought in the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian, and they've also added more goalkeeper depth with the addition of Sergio Romero. This team was already pretty stacked, so the Red Devils are looking very good ahead of the new season.

Tottenham
Considering Spurs finished just outside of the top four (fifth), lost in the finals of the Capital One Cup and came up short in the F.A. Cup and Europa League too, it was not their most prestigious season by any means.

That being said, there was one development in particular that was incredibly exciting for Tottenham supporters, and that was the emergence of striker Harry Kane, who scored 21 league goals (31 total) in his breakout campaign. There's no question about who will be leading Spurs' attack this coming season, but it remains to be seen if he can get enough help to push Tottenham back into the top four.

A lot of players ended up leaving White Hart Lane over the summer, namely Lewis Holtby, Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches, but they more than made up for those departures by inking deals with Toby Alderweireld, Kevin Wimmler and Kieran Trippier.

Premier League Pick
Nikki Adams has already written about this match and she believes a draw may be the way to go with your soccer picks, noting that previous head-to-head history suggests Tottenham will be able to get at least a point.

There's some merit to that line of thinking, but we think the Red Devils will be able to earn all three points on opening weekend. They've looked very good throughout the preseason and appear to be meshing quite nicely heading into this upcoming clash with Spurs. Rooney is back in his familiar striker role and is now joined by one of the best young players in the world in Depay alongside him, so United should have little trouble creating chances.

We're not all that confident in the Red Devils defensively, but they should be able to make up for those deficiencies by fashioning opportunities on the other end of the field. This opening match will tell us a lot about both teams, but ultimately we'll be taking on a little more chalk than normal by backing United at right around -150 to win outright.

Premier League Soccer Pick: Manchester United 3 Tottenham 1

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
