Real Madrid looks to close the gap on their great rivals Barcelona when they welcome Eibar to the Bernabeu in week 31 of La Liga betting. So where are the value soccer picks?

Real Madrid Runaway Faves
Real Madrid are sat second in the La Liga table, four points behind league-leading Barcelona. Through 30 laps of La Liga betting, los Blancos have put together a 23-1-6 record, which includes a 12-1-1 record at home and an 11-0-5 record on the road. Clearly, their home form is the cornerstone of their lofty standing in Spanish top-flight.

Since a 2-1 loss to Barcelona in El Classico, Real have reeled off two consecutive wins: a whopping 9-1 win over relegation threatened Granada and a 2-0 win over ninth-placed Rayo Vallecano. Three-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo netted six of Real's 11 goals, the last of which marked his career 300th goal for the club and sees him into an exclusive circle of players that accomplished the feat in the club's history.

Given Real's last two games, not to mention overall form, it's no surprise they are installed as the prohibitive -1600 favourites to win outright at the expense of Eibar on the La Liga odds board. Of course, Eibar's overall struggles (both home and away) in La Liga play a part in this lopsided soccer betting odds market too.

Los Blancos, typically, deliver when they are expected to, particularly when they are playing on home turf against lesser teams. They are riding a 12-game undefeated streak at the Bernabeu (eleven wins and one draw) since their only home loss this season, a 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in September. Incredibly, they've scored 44 goals during this stretch, while conceding just seven and never more than a goal in any game.

Indeed, Real Madrid are the deserved favourites in this game and should come away with the win. On the downside, though, Cristiano Ronaldo is in danger of missing the weekend clash with Eibar after receiving a yellow card for a so-called dive in the midweek clash with Rayo Vallecano. Gareth Bale is doubtful for the weekend with a muscle strain and Tony Kroos and James are suspended. All this adds to Carlos Ancelotti's decision making dilemma's on the day.

Eibar Long Shots
Fittingly, Eibar enter this game as the decided long shots at +3300 to win outright. The sheer staggering nature of their odds makes a win by the Spanish top-flight stragglers a pipedream, which only a diehard Eibar fan may consider on his/her weekend soccer picks.

Eibar are sat in 14th place in the table, but only six points clear of the drop and, as such, in no way safe for another run in Spain's top flight with eight games left on the season. Overall, they boast an 8-7-15 mark on the season and 31 points, which includes a 4-3-8 mark at home and a 4-4-7 mark on the road.

Eibar is without a win in their last six road games in La Liga; their best results were draws to Cordoba and Granada, two sides deep in the relegation zone. Against top half of the table sides, Eibar are 1-2-5 on the away, with only dates against Real Madrid and Valencia left. The only signature win was a 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano (ninth in the table). Although they managed draws to Sevilla and Athletic Club, they lost to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Real Sociedad and Villarreal. In those five losses, they conceded nine goals and netted just two.

Soccer Betting Verdict
Carlos Ancelotti does have some tough line-up decisions to make, but one has to consider his bench offers plenty of options that should be able to shoulder the responsibility in the absence of Real's glitterati. Word is they're hoping to appeal Ronaldo's yellow card, so pay attention to that news soccer bettors. If Real is successful in overturning the yellow card, his presence in the game is going to make a huge difference, most likely on the scoreboard.

In any event, this is a vital game for Real Madrid to win if they hope to keep the pressure on Barcelona at the top of the table and give them a good run for their money down the stretch for the Primera Division title. By and large, the expectation is for a Real win over Eibar. However, at -1600 soccer odds, there's no value to be had in such a straight up bet on your soccer picks. Better bets are Real to win both halves at -300 and the Over 2.5 at -333.
