Will Chelsea’s Premier League woes continue when they take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday? We bring you our soccer betting analysis complete with soccer free picks.

Everton Look To Maintain Edge Over Chelsea
Everton are sat ninth in the EPL table on five points behind a so-so 1-2-1 mark, but they are ahead of defending champions Chelsea, 13th in the table, for the time being. Only a point separates them in the table, indicating the positional gap is but a moot point. Not to mention, the premium on the win is significant for both clubs in the broad spectrum of round 5 of EPL betting, where in the table each team settles when all is said and done by the end of the weekend.

Everton are without a win in the last two rounds of Premier League. A sobering 2-0 loss to league-leading Manchester City at Goodison Park followed by a scoreless draw to Tottenham at White Hart Lane saw Everton slip down the table from fifth to ninth ahead of round 5. That said the merit of that earlier EPL ranking is debatable. Consider those points were gained behind a 2-2 draw to promoted Watford on opening day and a 3-0 win over a Southampton side that bears little resemblance to last season’s impressive instalment, which finished inside the top of the table, it would be a gross misrepresentation to suggest they were playing like a legitimate Top 5 club.

To be fair, it’s only the start of the season and inconsistency on form is not unusual when players are still finding their feet. All in all, Everton are still in a good place, inside the top-half of the table. Certainly, one could go so far as to suggest that compared to Chelsea’s spectacular drop on form since last season’s untouchable run to the title, the Toffees are not in bad shape.

What’s Wrong With The Blues?
The Blues are wholly off form and colour this season. Honestly, it beggars belief. Something doesn’t seem right in their camp and it’s personified by their lowly position in the EPL table. Sat 13th behind a 1-1-2 mark and 4 points, the Blues are merely two points clear of the relegation zone.

Obviously, nobody is going to entertain any notions of relegation where they are concerned. That’s just crazy. The expectation is that they’ll inevitably sort it out and revive their campaign in the 2015-2016 season. But they’ll need to do it quickly if they hope to remain legitimate contenders for the title.

As it is, Manuel Pellegrini’s Citizens are cruising down the EPL motorway in a red hot Ferrari, not taking their foot off the pedal for one instant, as they are 4-0-0 through the first four rounds and hold a three-point edge over Crystal Palace (there’s another surprise for soccer bettors— Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace are in second place!).

Speaking of Alan Pardew and Crystal Palace, they are after handing Jose Mourinho and the Blues their second defeat of the season. To add insult to injury, they heaped the misery upon the Chosen One and his beloved Blues at Stamford Bridge. The nerve.

Soccer Betting Verdict:
Despite the abysmal start to the season, Chelsea enter the clash as the favorites on the EPL socer odds board. Old habits die hard. Perceptions rule across sports betting markets and the Blues are the defending champions, after all. That said, Bet365 is trading Chelsea at EVEN money, which is a bit of a comedown where they are concerned in terms of soccer odds. For those looking to back Chelsea to bounce back in round 5, those are great soccer odds to pound.

Everton, meanwhile, are matched as the home underdogs at a whopping +300 soccer odds, while the draw is trading at +260 soccer odds. Those soccer bettors looking to back Everton as their soccer pick for the home win and – dare we say it – heap more misery on Jose Mourinho must love those prices. Combining the two results in double result betting with Everton to win or draw at -120 at Bet365 is a great way to hedge your bets here as well.

Consider how poorly the Blues have played in the first four rounds and the fact that they have Champions League commitments next week too, it’s not an improbable soccer pick to back Everton. Is it?
