While the Swans are unbeaten through two matches, the Black Cats have been unable to secure a solitary point thus far. Will that change this Saturday at home? Let's review the soccer odds.

Odds Overview
It's been a super rough start for the Black Cats, so we understand why oddsmakers are fearing the worst despite them being at home against Swansea City this weekend.

When we look over the Premier League odds, we see Sunderland at anywhere from +245 up to +285. That leaves the Swans holding the favorites tag for a second consecutive week; they're quoted at right around +105 to earn the full three points. A draw can be found at roughly +230 or so across a majority of the top sportsbooks.

Sunderland
Through two matches, the Black Cats have allowed seven goals, and that's just not going to cut if they want to survive in the incredibly competitive Premier League . It couldn't have been a worse start for Sunderland, with zero points to show for their poor efforts over the first two matchweeks.

The struggles have mainly come defensively, as you can tell by the two scorelines (2-4, 1-3), so we'll see if extra efforts have been made to shore up the back line during the week.

We're also curious to see what kind of formation Sunderland comes out with on Saturday. In the season debut against Leicester City, the Black Cats rolled with just one striker (Jermain Defoe), but against Norwich City they opted for a more standard 4-4-2, with Steven Fletcher inserted alongside Defoe. Will we see a similiar approach this weekend despite the side picking up another loss?

Swansea City
Whereas Sunderland has been brutal to start off 2015-16, we can't say the same about Swansea City. The Swans have enjoyed a terrific start to their campaign, earning an excellent 2-2 draw away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and then following that up with their first win, a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.

Bafetimbi Gomis gave Swansea a dream start by scoring in the ninth minute, and then Andre Ayew put the match out of reach early into the second half with an insurance goal. The Swans were good value for the win, as they totally dominated possession (67 percent) and looked a lot more threatening going forward. It was a nice all-around performance from the favorites.

With four points out of a possible six so far, Swansea City will be feeling very confident ahead of this trip to the Stadium of Light, but it's not going to be easy to leave that stadium with even a point. The Swans can't afford to let down whatsoever if they want to grab another positive result.

Premier League Pick
Thinking about public perception is important when handicapping, and in this instance you can picture the general population overreacting to this solid start for Swansea City and awful start for Sunderland.

The Black Cats have had a rough go of it to start the season, there's no doubt about that, but we think these lines may be a little too step. It's only a matter of time before we see variance kick in and Swansea disappoint, and it could very well come against what's sure to be a determined Sunderland outfit.

It's not like these Black Cats are void of talent. They've been a mess to start the campaign, but they're not going to play this poorly forever, and this situation sets up nicely for them against the Swans. We expect a highly competitive match with very little separating the two outfits.

So, when it comes to our final soccer picks, we're going to roll with a draw, which is at right around +230 to come through.

Premier League Pick: Sunderland 1 Swansea City 1

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2873046, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
