The Brazilians outlasted Peru in their opening match, but they'll have to play better if they want another positive result against a talented Colombian squad. Who should we favor with our soccer picks on Wednesday?

Odds Overview
No surprise to see Brazil as the favorite, but the soccer betting odds aren't as drastic as you may think. This is a very good Colombia team, so it's probably not going to be a walk in the park for the Brazilians, regardless of how talented they may.

When we look over the top sportsbooks, we find Brazil listed at just above even money at -105. If you believe Colombia's the play, they can be backed at +250, with a draw at roughly +220 or so. As you can tell by the lines, it's most likely going to be a very closely-contested match with little separating the two South American powerhouses.

We all know how good Brazil can be on their day, and it's not shocking at all that they're the chalk to win the Copa America. That being said, the competition is stiff this year, as we can't forget about Argentina and a number of other countries, including Wednesday's opponent Colombia, have more than enough talent to mount a challenge too.

The Brazilians weren't dominant by any stretch of the imagination in their opener, but they did what they had to do in the 2-1 victory over Peru. Brazil actually went down 1-0 after three minutes, only to see Neymar equalize a couple minutes later. The Barcelona forward then added an assist to his tally, setting up Douglas Costa in stoppage time for what ended up being the winner. Talk about leaving it to the last minute.

The three points has Brazil atop Group C, albeit tied with Venezuela, and that's just the kind of start Neymar and company were looking for, especially in a warm-up match before this anticipated meeting with Colombia.

It was a day to forget in the opener for Colombia, as they lost to Venezuela 1-0 in a lackluster showing all-around. Despite trotting out a formidable starting XI (more on that later), the Colombians couldn't get anything past the underdogs, and as a result they find themselves in a big hole to start off their Group C campaign.

As we mentioned, talent, especially in attack, is not a question for Colombia. They've got the likes of Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado, and Carlos Bacca among others, and even were able to bring Jackson Martinez off the bench. That just goes to show you how dangerous these Colombians could be if they figure it all out.

It was a disappointing effort in the opener, there's no doubt about that, but we're not about to count out Colombia after one match. This is a team that's still gelling together, and we anticipate they'll put forth a marked improvement in their performance against Brazil. It's a necessity if they want to get even a draw against the favored Brazilians.

Soccer Pick
We all know Brazil is the sexy soccer pick when it comes to international soccer, but that talented bunch didn't impress all that much against Peru. Neymar had to carry the team on his back in order to earn the three points.

Peru is solid, but Colombia is a level above, so a lack of quality and grit isn't going to cut it in game two of the group stages. James Rodriguez will be eager to make his presence felt, and the team as a whole will want to bounce back after a very disappointing showing against Venezuela.

With that said, we're on the lookout for a hard-fought draw in Chile on Wednesday, as we don't expect either team to assert their dominance.

Pick: Brazil 1 Colombia 1
