The Academy Awards are right around the corner. What picks offer the best value ahead of the Oscars on Sunday? Here are the best Oscars prop bets.

While most of the focus is on the bigger awards that will be handed out on Sunday night, there are clear front-runners for many of the honors. One of the only major awards without a firm favorite is Best Supporting Actress, with three women in play for the win.

Both screenplay categories also offer value, but most of the appealing plays come from awards that aren't discussed as much. After looking through the odds, we've come up with the three best value picks for Sunday night’s show.

Here are our best Oscars prop bets.

Oscars prop bet predictions

Best Supporting Actress - Jamie Lee Curtis (+175 via FanDuel)

Of all the major awards, the only one that's truly wide open is Best Supporting Actress. If any of Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis, or Kerry Condon were to win, there wouldn’t be a single surprised person in the audience.

Curtis isn’t favored in this category despite winning the SAG award a few weeks ago. Only once since 2008 has the winner of the SAG for Best Supporting Actress not gone on to take the Academy Award. That happened when Emily Blunt won for “A Quiet Place” and then wasn’t even nominated for the Oscar.

Although Angela Bassett has picked up quite a few wins during awards season, Curtis is a Hollywood favorite and should be favored for this honor based on history. At +175, this is perhaps the most valuable bet of the entire evening.

Best Costume Design - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (+185 via DraftKings)

The original “Black Panther” won three Academy Awards, including Best Costume Design. The sequel is up in the same category this year, and while Bassett is favored for Best Supporting Actress, this is where I think “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” holds the best chance to win.

Oscar voters have spread the wealth in recent years. “Elvis” is favored to win both Best Makeup and Hairstyling and Best Costume Design. And while there aren’t many who will argue with “Elvis” taking home the makeup honor after what the crew did to Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, Costume Design is more up in the air.

The costumes in “Wakanda Forever” are very good, and with many voters likely to tick off “Elvis” for Makeup and Hairstyling, the academy may choose the Marvel sequel for this one. A price of +185 is a really good number for the second-most popular movie nominated in 2023.

Best Live-Action Short - Le Pupille (+150 via DraftKings)

The category that's actually most wide open on Sunday night is Best Live-Action Short. It’s so open that DraftKings has given every film odds of +100 or higher.

These smaller categories are often the difference between winning your Oscar pool and losing, so having some sense of what these movies offer is always helpful. Or, you could just know how widely each one is available.

“An Irish Goodbye” is the current favorite, and there's some star power behind the film with Michelle Fairley involved. However, it's very hard to find. Meanwhile, “Le Pupille" is easily accessible via Disney+.

Most voters likely haven’t seen all of the films in this category, and the politics of Hollywood really don’t play a role. So accessibility may be the determining factor for what movie wins.
