In college basketball on Thursday,we have a number of betting odds which have been moved upwards of 1.5 points, but quick research finds many those are related to injuries.

We will instead focus our attention on the more traditional line moves on the college hardwood and also cover the NBA and NHL. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

NBA – New York vs. Milwaukee 3:05 ET  NBA-TV
It doesn’t seem to matter the league, when we send our sports teams over to England, at least one of the teams is pathetic. In this case it is the New York Knicks at 5-35 (13-26-1 ATS), taking on Milwaukee. At least bettors here and across the pond are thinking the entertainment value will be better, lifting the NBA odds total of 195.5 to 198. The Knickbockers defense is surrendering 106.2 points a game in last five, lending to the shift. The return of Carmelo Anthony also plays into the NBA adjustment, just keep in mind Milwaukee is 10-0 UNDER in last 10 games and is playing stingy defense.

NBA Pick –  Lean Under

NBA – Oklahoma City vs. Houston  8:05 ET   TNT
What in the world caused Houston to go from -2.5 to +1.5 at home against Oklahoma City? A big factor for NBA basketball handicappers and those generating NBA picks has to be scheduling. The Thunder have not played since last Friday and many of the players have remarked “..it’s been like training camp” and they are anxious to get back to playing real games. For the Rockets, this is their third game in four days and they were in Orlando last night, losing 120-113. I concur this is good NBA logic, but just have to wonder a little that OKC is 4-12 ATS versus teams averaging 83 or more shots a game this season.

NBA Pick – Lean Oklahoma City

NCAA Basketball – Auburn vs. Florida  8:00 ET  ESPN2
Billy Donovan's Gators haven't exactly lived up to their preseason hype, coming into this contest at a modest 9-6 (5-7 ATS) overall. Injuries and inconsistent shooting has set a negative tone, but Florida is coming off a pair of impressive SEC victories and those making NCAA basketball picks think the Gators might have some bite after all. Florida is up two points to -15.5 against Auburn, who is 5-1 (3-1-1 ATS) since Dec. 17. What is in question about the Tigers is their road offense, or lack of it, averaging a measly 53.7 PPG on 35.2 percent shooting. The number looks correct making this a hard choice, but we do find the Gators are 0-6 ATS after a home win by 20 or more points.

NCAA Basketball Pick - Slight lean with Florida

NCAA Basketball - CS-Northridge vs. UC- Santa Barbara  10:00 ET
Cal- Northridge is 4-13 and 1-11 ATS, yet has friends in the wagering community as they have been scaled down from two touchdown road underdogs to +12.5. In searching for reasons, the road team in this Big West battle is on a 6-0 ATS run, with five wins. Northridge is 9-4 ATS at UCSB in the past 13 meetings, which also works to help lower the spread on our NCAA basketball odds. The Gauchos however are better in every area on the floor, which leads to me going against the public.

NCAA Basketball Pick – Lean UCSB

NHL – Vancouver vs. Philadelphia  7:05 ET  NHLN
When it was announced Ryan Miller would be back between the pipes for Vancouver, the Canucks shot up from -115 to -145 on the money line. Vancouver has the better squad, but Miller tending goal will not help the offense, which has two goals in the Canucks three strsight losses. I’ll take flyer on the Flyers with Vancouver 0-8 after three or more consecutive defeats.
