The Virginia Cavaliers are heavily favored to win tonight's home game against the Pittsburgh Panthers. Find out what our expert NCAA Basketball pick for this ACC battle is.

Odds Overview
Today's betting board shows Virginia favored by 12.5 to 13 points. Make sure you keep tracking the odds movement with SBR's live NCAA Basketball odds page in order to get the best number out there. You never know if that half point will make all the difference.

A low-scoring game is expected, as we can see by the the total of 118. Virginia has been one of the most dominant defensive teams in the country this season, so it's no shock to see a low total on the board.

Virginia Cavaliers
It's hard to find much wrong with Virginia's season. The Cavaliers have only lost one game all season long (at home to Duke) and have otherwise been perfect. Since that loss to the Blue Devils, Virginia has won four in a row, which includes nice wins over North Carolina and Louisville, both of whom are ranked highly.

As usual, the Cavaliers have been excelling most of the defensive end, which in turn has led to them completely shutting opponents down at times. Countless times already this season they've held teams under 50 points, and they've even held opponents to under 30 on a couple occasions. That's no easy feat.

It appears as if Virginia has all the necessary ingredients to make some serious noise again come March. The Cavaliers will enter the ACC tournament as one of the top favorites, and they should also head into the NCAA Tournament with a number one seed too. Malcolm Brogdon has been doing a little of everything for Virginia, but this is a team that gets contributions from all over the place. With that kind of balance, it's hard to pinpoint certain players who have stood out.

<var>For More Action, Check out our Top NCAA Basketball Picks of the Day</var>

Pittsburgh Panthers
The Panthers are making a late run and are hoping to pull off more magic tonight against Virginia. They've won four of their last five games to improve to a much more respectable 17-9 overall and 6-6 in ACC play. Included in there are a few great wins over Notre Dame (76-72), Syracuse (83-77) and North Carolina (89-76).

As you can see, Pittsburgh has really turned things around, and there have been multiple guys that have stepped up. Team captain Cameron Wright is back and healthy and that's going to make things a lot smoother, and Michael Young, Jamel Artis and James Robinson have all been doing good things too. Artis especially has really elevated his game in his sophomore season and will look to lead the Panthers to an unlikely win this evening.

It's obviously not going to come easy against arguably the toughest defense in all of college basketball. The Panthers do, at least, have quite a bit of experience within their rotation and they've played Virginia tough in recent meetings, so all hope isn't lost.

NCAA Basketball Pick
We hate to say it, and we wouldn't blame you for going the other way, but we think Pittsburgh has a good chance of covering this large number.

Points are going to be hard to come by, but the return of Wright for the Panthers should be a big help here. With Artis playing as well as he is right now, we believe Pittsburgh could close out the season strong. They've been playing much better of late, notching a few very impressive victories, and we're hoping that momentum can be carried over against Virginia.

The Cavaliers are a formidable foe, there's no doubt about it, but we think the lines are just a little too steep here. In what should be a low-scoring affair, we'll back Pittsburgh as our NCAA Basketball Pick, to stay somewhat close tonight.

Free College Basketball Pick: Pittsburgh Panters +12.5 at 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":361890, "sportsbooksIds":[19,43,227,1096,999996,93,238,123,139], "LineTypeId":5, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
