The Clippers have lost two games in a row, following a long winning streak; Detroit has won two games in a row, following a long losing streak. Will those current streaks reach three when the teams meet at Staples Center Monday night? Here's our take, with our free NBA pick.

Most NBA odds opened this game with LA favored by 12.5 points, the total pegged at 203. In the early betting the spread was holding steady, while the total had been bumped to 204.

Those who believe Detroit might win this game outright could get a price of +900 on the moneyline at Sportbet.

Pistons-Clippers: The Match-Up
Detroit went off this season with a wins OVER/UNDER of 36. At just 5-19 the Pistons are on pace to win just 17 games. Detroit just broke a 13-game losing streak with a 105-103 victory at Phoenix Friday night. The Pistons, the poorest-shooting team in the league, shot 48 percent from the floor Friday, made 21 of 27 free-throws and won outright as 10-point underdogs.

Detroit then followed that victory up with a 95-90 win at Sacramento Saturday night. The Pistons only shot 44 percent, but held the Kings to 36 percent shooting. It should be pointed out, though, that Sacramento C DeMarcus Cousins missed that game due to illness, so Detroit caught a break there.

The Clippers began this season with a wins O/U of 55. At 16-7 LA is on pace to win 57 games.

The Clippers just had a nine-game winning streak snapped by a 104-96 loss at Washington Friday night. LA shot just 43 percent, allowed the Wizards to shoot 49 percent and committed 18 turnovers. The Clippers then followed that up by losing at Milwaukee Saturday night 111-106. LA again shot just 43 percent, and allowed the Bucks to shoot a blazing 57 percent.

Pistons-Clippers, Statistically Speaking
Detroit ranks dead last in the league in FG shooting at 41 percent, 25th in 3-point shooting at 33 percent and 29th in free-throw shooting at just 70 percent. The Pistons also rank 12th in FG defense, holding foes to 45 percent shooting.

LA ranks second in FG shooting at 48 percent, second in 3-point shooting at 38 percent and 11th in FT shooting at 77 percent. The Clippers also rank 17th in FG defense at 45.5 percent.

Pistons-Clippers Recent History
The Clippers have beaten the Pistons seven times in a row, stretching back to 2010. Last year LA swept two games from Detroit by the exact same score of 112-103, and this season the Clippers took the first meeting between the teams 104-98 three weeks ago in Detroit. But the Pistons covered that game as eight-point home dogs.

LA held a 93-82 lead in that most recent meeting with five minutes to go, but allowed Detroit to go on a 9-0 run to get within a bucket. The Clippers then rebuilt a double-digit lead, but the Pistons scored late for the back-door cover.

LA outshot Detroit 47 percent to 45 percent, made 12 of 28 three-pointers and shot 18-for-19 from the FT line.

That game sneaked OVER its total of 198 as the teams combined to score 57 points in the fourth quarter.

Pistons-Clippers Free Pick
Detroit lost 13 in a row, then won two straight; LA won nine in a row, then lost two straight. We don't believe either of those streaks will hit three. So we like the Clippers to win this game. And if they win this game there's a decent chance they'll cover this spread. So we'll take LA for our free NBA pick in this spot.
