NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series heads to this year’s Axalta ‘We Paint Winners’ 400 at Pocono Raceway, and we have some recommendations for your NASCAR Racing Picks.

Martin Truex Jr. most likely punched his ticket to this season’s Sprint Cup Chase with a victory last Sunday in the Coca-Cola 600 with Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson taking second and third as the top two favorites in that race.

The following is a look at my top valued favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday at Pocono based on Bovada's odds:

Top Favorite
Jimmie Johnson comes into this race as a +700 third favorite to win, but he is at the top of my betting picks this week. Last Sunday’s third-place finish snapped a three-race skid in which the No. 48 Chevrolet actually finished outside the top 20 drivers. This team has still raced well enough to hold down the third spot in the current Sprint Cup standings with 409 total points and it is virtually assured a spot in this season’s Chase with two previous victories. The main reason I am going with Johnson is a solid 9.5 average finishing position at this track along with an encouraging third-place finish in this event last year.

Top Valued Contender
When Matt Kenseth gets on a roll he can add quite a bit of value to his betting odds. He comes into this race at +1000 odds to win and going back to early May the No. 20 Toyota has placed fourth at Kansas, first at Dover and seventh this past Sunday at Charlotte. This has been a complete turnaround from a very slow start out of the gate that only included three other Top 10 finishes. When it comes to Kenseth’s overall track record at Pocono his average finishing position is a less than stellar 15.2. However he has been on a roll here lately as well with a sixth-place finish in this event in 2015 followed by a trip to Victory Lane in the second race at Pocono last year.

Top Valued Longshot
It is just a matter of time before rookie driver Chase Elliott crosses the finish line first in a Sprint Cup point race behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet. Taking over for Jeff Gordon on a fulltime basis, he has moved up to eighth in the standings with 374 points on the strength of four Top 5 finishes including a recent third-place run at Dover. Last week at Charlotte, he ended-up eighth after starting from the No. 12 spot. This will be his first run at Pocono in a Sprint Cup event, but at +2000 betting odds he is worth a small play to upset the field given everything he has already accomplished this year.

Betting Odds for other Notable Drivers
The top favorite to win on Sunday is last week’s champ Martin Truex Jr. at +450 betting odds. Another reason for such a lofty ranking is the fact that he comes in as the defending champ of this race. Second on the list at +600 odds is Kevin Harvick following his second-place run at Charlotte. After Johnson, there is a trio of drivers on the list at +800 made up of Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano. Joining Kenseth at +1000 is Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski. Kurt Busch is listed at +1200 odds to win and Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounds-out the list of notables at +1800 to post his first point race victory of the year.
