NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series returns to Talladega Superspeedway this week for the sixth race in this season’s 10-race Chase with several drivers looking to keep their title hopes alive by advancing to the next round. That said, it is time for NASCAR picks.

Alabama 500 at 2:00 p.m, broadcast nationally on NBC.

Last week’s victory at Kansas sends 2014 Sprint Cup Champ Kevin Harvick into the next round of the Chase and I was able to cash in on that win with a bet on him as my top-valued favorite at +450 betting odds. Carl Edwards ended up in second place in that race and Joey Logano finished third.

The following is a look at my top valued favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday afternoon at Talladega based on betting odds as provided by 5Dimes. When it comes to betting on any NASCAR racing event, 5Dimes is at the top of the list in my book.

Top Valued Favorite

I am going chalk again this week after winning with Harvick last Sunday at Kansas with Brad Keselowski as my top favorite to win this race at +450 betting odds. Right now he is on the outside looking in as far as advancing to the Round of 8 and nothing short of a victory on Sunday will keep his Sprint Cup title hopes alive. This has not been the best Chase for the No. 2 Ford, but the reason I am high on his chances to win is Keselowski’s recent success at this track. Facing elimination in 2014, he won at Talladega and coming into this race he has already won here this season with a victory in the first race. Also, check the betting odds at all of the different sportsbooks.

Top Valued Contender

Another top Sprint Cup driver facing elimination this Sunday is Joey Logano. He would need to finish second or better this Sunday to advance to the Round of 8 and his betting odds to win this race have been set at +1200. The No. 22 Ford started this year’s Chase with a second-place finish at Chicago and this team worked its way to fifth in last Sunday’s race. Working against Logano’s odds is a 19.9 average finishing position at Talladega over the course of his Sprint Cup career, but comes into this week’s event as the defending champion after winning here last fall.

Top Valued Longshot

Moving down the list at 5Dimes, where you can get a 50% Free Play Bonus, I am going with Austin Dillon at +2250 as this week’s top-valued longshot. He is another Chase driver that basically needs to win this race to keep his Sprint Cup title hopes alive and I actually like his chances to upset the field with a win. Last week, he was able to guide the No. 3 Chevrolet to a sixth-place finish at Kansas following a wreck at Charlotte the week before. Earlier this season Dillon placed third at Talladega as one of his four Top 5 finishes this season.

Betting Odds for other Notable Drivers

Kyle Busch is in good shape to stay in the Chase and his odds to guarantee a spot with a win at Talladega have been set at +700. Denny Hamlin needs a victory in this race to keep his fading title hopes alive and his betting odds to get it done have been set at +1000. Both Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick are already in the Round of 8 for this year’s Chase following victories in the first two races in the Round of 12. Both drivers are also listed at +1150 betting odds to win on Sunday along with Matt Kenseth, who needs to finish 28th or better in this race to advance to the next round. Following Logano at +1200 is Carl Edwards, Martin Truex Jr., and Kurt Busch at +1350.
