The 2023 NASCAR season is drawing near. We've looked at the odds to be the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Champion; below, we'll look at the Daytona 500 odds.

As it does every year, NASCAR starts a new season with the most prestigious event on the calendar. Some books have had lines for the Daytona 500 available since mid-November and have seen little change since. Given the volatile nature of superspeedway racing, these lines will likely stay close to their opening until the starting grid is set.

Rookie Austin Cindric took home the checkered flag from the Great American Race last season as a 33/1 longshot.

Here is our look at the best NASCAR odds for the 2023 Daytona 500, along with a look at some potential picks.

Daytona 500 odds 2023: Favorites

Denny Hamlin (+1300 via FanDuel)

Hamlin leads all active drivers with three Daytona 500 wins. His price fluctuation is negligible with a 200-point difference between Caesars (+1000) and DraftKings (+1200). The No. 11 car opened at 10/1 in November. Don’t expect this line to move too much until starting positions are set for the race.

Ryan Blaney (+1300 via FanDuel)

Despite never winning a Daytona 500, Blaney is listed among the favorites in large part thanks to his two career runner-up finishes at the Great American Race. Books are locked in at his 12/1 listing with no deviation between them. The No. 12 car did not win a race last season, yet still found his way to the playoffs on points.

Kyle Busch (+2200 via BetMGM)

With his move from Joe Gibbs Racing to the Richard Childress team, Busch has one of the widest odd margins on the slate. DraftKings offers the shortest odds (+1800), while BetMGM (+2200) shows the least faith in the new driver of the No. 8 car to win this race. Busch has never won a Daytona 500 in his storied career. Grab the 22/1 now as it may tighten up to the mean in the coming weeks.

Daytona 500 odds 2023: Contenders

Joey Logano (+1400 via DraftKings)

The 2022 series champion has one Daytona 500 victory to his name. However, he is still among the favorites to win across all major books. He can be found anywhere between +1100 on Caesars and +1400 on both DraftKings and BetMGM. These odds should be in no danger of shifting as the public is likely to stay away from the No. 22 car for this race. Logano has an average finish of 19th in his last three Daytona 500 outings.

Chase Elliott (+1200 via Caesars)

Elliott has already won a Cup Series championship in his young career. However, he has yet to take home a checkered flag in seven attempts at the Daytona 500. He logged a series-high five victories last season which accounts for his consistent 12/1 listing. Much like the other favorites in this race, his odds shouldn’t get much lower than they are now.

Austin Cindric (+2500 via FanDuel)

Last season, Cindric won the Daytona 500 in his first appearance. The 2020 Xfinity Series champion was 33/1 to win that race. This year, those odds have tightened and can be found as low as 18/1 on both DraftKings and BetMGM. His price is also set thanks to a third-place showing in the fall Daytona race. He will remain in this range and would only see movement should he fail to qualify well.

Daytona 500 odds 2023: Long shots

Ty Gibbs (+4000 via DraftKings)

Gibbs is in line to become the second rookie in as many seasons to win his first Daytona 500. He is also the most polarizing driver oddswise, swinging between +1800 on Caesars and +4000 on DraftKings. Gibbs will pilot the No. 54 car for Joe Gibbs in the major circuit this year. He is worth some speculation at 40/1 on DraftKings or even the 33/1 on BetMGM. Stay away from anything lower than this.

Noah Gragson (+5000 via BetMGM)

Gragson will be running in his first full Cup Series season as the pilot of the No. 42 car for Petty GMS Racing. However, he will be making his second career Daytona 500 start this year. In 2022, Gragson finished in 31st place while driving the No. 62 car. He won a series-high eight races last year in the Xfinity Series. Lines are locked at 50/1 for the rookie across all major books.

Jimmie Johnson (+5000 via DraftKings)

Books are somewhat unsure as to what to make of Johnson’s return to NASCAR this season. DraftKings seems to show the least confidence in his ability to win his third Daytona 500 giving him 50/1 odds. Caesars has him listed at 33/1, while BetMGM has him at 40/1. The former seven-time Cup Series champion is not guaranteed a spot in the race, but if he does, his current odds make this an attractive investment.
