Let’s take a thumbnail sketch look at that MLS showdown that will be played from Friday to Sunday in our modern weekly (and winning) league gambling rundown for our SBR Soccer readership.

SJ Earthquakes vs. Houston Dynamo
Chris Wondolowski (9 goals), Quincy Amarikwa (3 goals), Alberto Quintero (3 goals) and the San Jose Earthquakes (7-10-6, 25 GF-24 GA) welcome Will Bruin (4), Giles Barnes (4 goals), Andrew Wenger (3 goals) and the Houston Dynamo (4-9-10, 25 GF-29 GA) to San Jose in the MLS Regular Season Week 23 opener in Friday night (MLS Live, UniMás) and second meeting in the L3 weeks between these two clubs. The Quakes upped their unbeaten streak to 5 in Week 22 (LWDDDW) while the Dynamo remained winless in their L6 (DLDDLD).

The L5 meetings in this Western Conference series (HOU 1-1 SJ, SJ 3-1 VAN, HOU 2-1 SJ, SJ 0-2 HOU, HOU 0-1 SJ) has seen no real recent Trend Sidewise with both 2-1-2 (W-D-L) the L5 and the Both Teams To Score (Yes) W3 straight after 2 Clean Sheets. With the Quakes (6-4-1, 13 GF-6 GA at Home) having just one Loss at Avaya Stadium and having allowed just 6 Goals in 11 Home matches (0.55 gpg) and the Dynamo still winless on the Road (0-3-9, 9 GF-19 GA on Road), it’s easy to just take the Home side here which is slowly creeping closer to the Playoff Red Line (31 points) and is now just 1 point back of 6th place.

Final Score Prediction: Earthquakes 2 Dynamo 1
Free MLS Pick: Earthquakes -115 at BetVictor

New York City FC vs LA Galaxy
Former English Premier League legends Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea) and Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) will all get together at historic Yankee Stadium in the Bronx as the 1st place team in the Eastern Conference, NYCFC (10-8-7, 43 GF-43 GFA) plays host to the 2nd place team in the Western Conference, the LA Galaxy (9-10-3, 37 GF-23 GA) on Saturday afternoon (ESPN, MLS Live (US), Sky Sports 5/HD (UK)) in a fun matchup. With NYCFC expanded into the MLS just last year, these two haven’t played much yet with the Galaxy throttling NYCFC, 5-1 at the stubHub Center in Carson last season.

With prolific Irishman Robbie Keane (8 goals), Giovanni Dos Santos (7 goals), Mike Magee (6 goals) and Gyasi Zardes (5 goals) for the Galaxy (as well as Gerrard) and David Villa (15 goals), Thomas McNamara (4 goals) and the aforementioned Lampard (9 goals) for NYCFC, among others, there should be at least 4 goals scored here, especially in the tight confines of an MLB structure and in the heat of the Summer. Behind GK Brian Rowe, the LA Galaxy (3-5-3, 14 GF-12 GA on Road) have allowed the second least number of Goals (23) in the MLS, only behind the Rapids (20) But still...

Final Score Prediction: NYCFC 2 LA Galaxy 2
Free MLS Pick: Over 2½ -125 at Bet365
Free MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score (Yes) -157 at Unibet

Philadelphia Union vs. Toronto FC
The Philadelphia Union (9-7-8, 42 GF-37 GA) play host to Toronto FC (10-7-7, 34 GF-25 GA) on Saturday night (MLS Live, SN360, The Comcast Network) in a big Eastern Conference match between the 4th- and 3nd-place clubs in the conference. Philadelphia (7-3-2, 26 GF-16 GA) equaled its largest margin of victory ever with a 4-0 win over

In Week 23 as Chris Pontius (10 goals, Anytime Goalscorer +220, Paddy Power) scored for the 4th time in the L5 games. The L5 meetings in this Eastern Conference series (TOR 2-1 PHI, TOR 2-1 PHI, PHI 0-1 TOR, TOR 0-2 PHI, PHI 1-0 TOR) reveals 2 straight Overs and Wins by the Home side after straight Clean Sheets and Unders. With Roland Alberg (8 goals), CJ Sapong (7 goals) for the hosts and Sebastian Giovinco (15 goals, Anytime Goalscorer +140, Paddy Power), Jozy Altidore (Anytime Goalscorer +200, Bet365) and Jordan Hamilton (4 goals, Anytime Goalscorer +260, Paddy Power) for the confident Reds and this being Summer still, we can expect 3 goals here, making the Over 2½ an olde fashioned type of handicap: Think the two clubs will score at least 3, bet Over 2½. This one should be a battle and very entertaining.

Final Score Prediction: Union 2 Toronto FC 2
Free MLS Pick: Over 2½ -125 at Bet365
MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score ‘Yes’ -150 at Coral

Montreal Impact vs. Chicago Fire
David Accam (5 goals), Kennedy Igboananike (4 goals) and the Chicago Fire (4-7-11, 22 GF-33 GA) head through Customs and across the Canadian border to Quebec on Saturday afternoon (MLS Live, CSN Plus, TVA Sports US), Sky Sports 3/HD (UK)) to face Chelsea icon Didier Drogba (8 goals, Anytime Goalscorer -105, Bet365), Ignacio Piatti (13 goals) and the Montreal Impact (8-9-6, 38 GF-34 GA). The L5 meetings in this Eastern Conference series (CHI 1-2 MTL, MTL 2-1, CHI, MTL 4-3 CHI, CHI 3-0 MTL, CHI 0-0 MTL) reveals 4 straight Overs and s deeper handicapping dive shows the Impact have lost just once in the L8 (4-3-1). With Chicago (0-2-9, 8 GF-20 GA) still winless on the Road, the easy pick here’s with host Montreal (-157, Marathon).

Final Score Prediction: Impact 3 Fire 1
Free MLS Picks: Impact -157, Over 2½ -120 at Marathon
Free MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score ‘Yes’ -112 at 888Sport

New England Revolution vs. Columbus Crew
Ola Kamara (10 goals) and the Columbus Crew (3-11-8, 29 GF-38 GA) head to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Saturday night (MLS Live, TWCSC-Ohio, CSN-New England CW Columbus) for this MLS Regular Season Week 24 Eastern Conference match. The L5 meetings in this series (NE 3-1 CLB, CLB 2-1 NE, NE 0-0 CLB, NE 3-1 CLB, CLB 2-4 NE) reveals 4 Overs in the L5 and the Both Teams To Score (Yes) to be 4-1. With the Crew slumping and weak Away (0-3-7, 7 GF-18 GA), Lee Nguyen (5 goals) and the Revolution (LLL) solid enough at Home (5-4-3, 15 GF-14 GA) for the competition in its current form, another easy pick which actually makes itself but only in the Draw No Bet marketplace as New England has L3 and is not trustworthy enough to back here in the Three-Way marketplace. This still seems like a good weekend to back some Home chalks, some Overs and some BTTS (Yes) picks.

Final Score Prediction: Revolution 2 Crew 1 NYCFC 2
Free MLS Picks: Revolution -225 (Betstars), Over 2½ -125 at Marathon
Free MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score ‘Yes’ -162 at PaddyPower

Colorado Rapids vs Orlando City SC
Two-thousand-and-fifteen MLS Rookie of the Year Cyle Larin (12 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +175, Bet365), Kevin Molino (9 goals), Spanish legend Kaká (4 goals) and second-year MLS club Orlando City SC (5-12-6, 38 GF-41 GA) head west 2 Time Zones (EDT to MDT) to the Rocky Mountains to face the Colorado Rapids (11-9-3, 27 GF-20 GA) on Saturday night (MLS Live, Altitude, TV27) in what should be a thrilling intra-conference meeting between the two sides with OCSC getting their first taste of the 5,164 feet of Altitude. With OCSC expanding into the MLS last year these two sides have only played once (ORL 2-0 COL) with Orlando blanking the Rapids, 2-0 at the Citrus Bowl last season. The Site, Travel and fact OCSC has never played a match here should definitely play the biggest parts here and it seems if one team has the best Home-pitch Edge in the MLS this Regular Season, it has certainly been GK Tim Howard and Colorado (9-3-0, 16 GF- 5 GA at Home).

Final Score Prediction: Rapids 2 OCSC 1
Free MLS Pick: Rapids -200 at Marathon

Sporting Kansas City vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Sporting Kansas City (10-5-11, 30 GF-30 GA) welcomes the Vancouver Whitecaps (8-6-11, 34 GF-31 GA) to the Sunflower State on Saturday night (MLS Live, KMCI-38, TXA-21, TWCSC-TX) for this big Western Conference match for both sides. The L5 meetings in this series (VAN 1-1 SKC, SKC 2-1 VAN, SKC 4-3 SKC, VAN 0-1 SKC, VAN 2-0 SKC) reveals the Home side to be 3-1-1 with the Both Teams To Score (Yes) having W3 in a row. Expect Dominic Dwyer (12 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +125, Bet365), Benny Feilhaber (5 goals) to try to protect the Home turf but with Pedro Morales (6 goals) and the Whitecaps (3-1-8, 14 GF-26 GA) being a team which plays in such a high-scoring matches on the Road (3.33 gpg), the betting pick here is to take the Over.

Final Score Prediction: Sporting Kansas City 2 Whitecaps 1
Free MLS Pick: Over 2½ -111 at Bet365

Real Salt Lake vs FC Dallas
Yura Movsisyan (7 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +187, Bet365), Joao Plata (7 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +175, Bet365), Juan Manuel Martinez (6 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +260, Bet365), Pedro Báez (Anytime Goalscorer +210, Bet365) and stellar GK Nick Rimando and Real Salt Lake (10-7-8, 36 GF-36 GA) play host to 1st-place FC Dallas (13-6-6, 39 GF-33 GA) on Saturday night (MLS Live, KMYU, TWCSC-Texas). The L5 meetings (DAL 2-0 RSL, RSL 0-1 DAL, DAL 2-0 RSL, RSL 2-1 DAL, DAL 2-1 RSL) in this Western Conference series shows 3 straight Unders (as well as Clean Sheets) with the Home team W4 of the L5 and a deeper handicapping dive (with scuba gear) shows a 0-0 Halftime Scoreline in 12 of the L18 meetings (0-0 Halftime Score, +190, 19/10 Fractional, 2.0 Decimal, Winner) in this series.

Final Score Prediction: Real Salt Lake 1 FC Dallas 0
Free MLS Picks: Real Salt Lake +138, Under 2½ -105 at Matchbook
Free MLS Props Pick: Halftime Score 0-0 +190 at Winner

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3000271, "sportsbooksIds":[626,238,93,19,227], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]

DC United vs NY Red Bulls
DC United (6-9-8, 24 GF-28 GA) welcome Bradley Wright-Phillips (14 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +137, Bet365) and the New York Red Bulls (10-6-9, 43 GF-33 GA) in an enticing Eastern Conference showdown at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on Sunday afternoon (ESPN, MLS Live (US), Sky Sports 5/HD (UK)). The L5 meetings (DCU 2-0 RBNY, RBNY 1-0 DCU, DCU 0-1 RBNY, RBNY 3-0 DCU, DCU 2-2) in this series reveals 4 consecutive Clean Sheets and 3 from the Home club and a deeper look shows DCU to be 24-7-10 (81 GF-56 GA) at Home against the Red Bulls but this is a different New York side as well as a very different DCU (5-3-4, 17 GF-13 GA at Home) one and it seems worth taking a shot on the underdog visitors RBNY (37 points) here in this spot who are in 2nd place and chasing 1st-place rival NYCFC (38 points).

Final Score Prediction: DC United 1 Red Bulls 2
Free MLS Pick: Red Bulls +168 at Marathon

Seattle Sounders vs Portland Timbers
The Seattle Sounders (8-3-12, 26 GF-30 GA) and longtime captain Clint Dempsey (6 goals; (Anytime Goalscorer +175, Bet365) and Jordan Morris (7 goals) play host to the defending MLS champion Portland Timbers (8-8-9, 36 GF-38 GA) in this latest installment of the Cascadia Cup on Sunday evening (FS1 (US), MLS Live (CAN)) in the last match of MLS Week 24. The L5 meetings (POR 2-1 SEA, SEA 2-1 POR, POR 4-1 SEA, SEA 1-0 POR, POR 2--4 SEA) in this Western Conference series shows the Home team to have W4 straight while a deeper handicapping dive shows the hosts here to be 6-1-1 in the L8 meetings, with the Over also 6-2 in the L8, averaging 2.76 gpg. With the Sounders (6-1-5, 15 GF-10 GA at Home) in an off year and the Timbers (0-6-6, 9 GF-18 GA on Road), this match should be a close one but is a tough call and should see each side notch a goal in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Final Score Prediction: Sounders 1 Timbers 1
Free MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score (Yes) -137 at 32Red
MLS Rundown Picks Record Last Week 23: 11-6-2
