This busy Week 15 fixture sees the LA Galaxy (5-5-4, 13 GF-14 GA) hosting the upstart Vancouver Whitecaps (7-2-5, 16 GF-13 GA) in a big Western Conference match on Saturday night from the StubHub Center in Carson between two clubs right in the thick of the race for postseason positioning. Soccer odds makers have made the host Galaxy -120 favorites here over the visiting and impressive Whitecaps +294 with the Draw priced at +240 (BetBright). The Total Goals has yet to bet set (Sunday afternoon), but should be at 2½ like most MLS contests.

Some Futures Book wagers for this weekend fixture from Southern California: To Win Western Conference: LA Galaxy +450, Vancouver Whitecaps +400 (BetVictor); and, To Win MLS Cup: LA Galaxy 5/1, Vancouver Whitecaps 15/1 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook). The Galaxy opened  up as odds favorites to win the MLS Cup at 3/1 odds at the SuperBook while the surging Whitecaps at 30/1, so you can see what bettors think about these two teams prospects to win the MLS Cup, and, in terms of value, it still seems like a Vancouver (MLS Cup) Futures bet may potentially hold a little more value. despite the odds being cut in half since opening here.

Vancouver Whitecaps
In Week 14 MLS play on Saturday afternoon, the Vancouver Whitecaps (3-1-2 Road, 3 GF-2 GA) defeated Real Salt Lake at Home in Vancouver, 2-1 as Gershon Koffie opened up the scoring for the Whitecaps with Cristian Techera providing the 2nd Half game-winner. On Offense, the Whitecaps are led by 23-year-old star Uruguayan striker Octavio Rivera (6 goals), Darien Mattocks (3 goals) and Pedro Morales (2 goals), but this is a very balanced team and had climbed to 2nd place in the Western Conference heading into play Sunday—tied on points (23) wirth the Seattle Sounders who faced the New York Red Bulls later in the day—because of its solid Defense with Vancouver GK David Ousted (38 Saves, 13 Goals Conceded) and his teammates have allowed the third-least goals in the Western Conference. This Whitecaps squad is truly a versatile, under-the-radar MLS team to watch, as the movement in odds for the Blue and Whites  in the Futures Book marketplace now indicates (15/1 to win MLS Cup, opened at 30/1; Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook).

LA Galaxy
In Week 14 MLS play on Sunday, the LA Galaxy (4-2-0 at Home, 8 GF-3 GA) traveled east to face the New England Revolution, and, at press time, the Galaxy had a 2-1 lead over New england at the 32-minute mark, so, maybe their first Road win and some much-needed confidence? One of two big things here in this game against Vancouver—the other being the series trends in league play we’ll discuss below—is that legendary Head Coach Bruce Arena and the Galaxy are unbeaten here at Home so far this season. But because of an extremely poor and winless Road record (0-3-4, 4 GF-12 GA) to start the season off, this team found itself in 5th place in the Western Conference heading into that aforementioned meeting with the Revolution at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Sunday afternoon. In their last Home game here two Fridays nights ago (May 22), the Galaxy escaped with the win and the 3 points when Alan Gordon (4 goals) scored on a Stoppage Time header for a 1-0 triumph over the Houston Dynamo, then ending a 5-game losing streak. With star Irish striker Robbie Keane (2 goals) back from a groin injury as well as Jose Villarreal (1 goal, hamstring) and talented players like Jose Villarreal (1 goal), the electric Juninho (1 goal), Omar Gonzalez (1 goal) and Baggio Husidic (1 goal) along with 33-year-old Panamanian goalkeeper Jaime Penedo in goal, this is a team to be feared, but not being able to win on the Road heading into Week 15 seems like a slight problem in the big scheme of things for this club. Hopefully for the Galaxy, they ended up winning this now 2-2 game (37’) at Gillette Stadium against the Revolution on Sunday night. Things in a constant state of Change.

Current Form, Series Trends, Conclusions
Lifetime in MLS play, the LA Galaxy hold a huge advantage over the Whitecaps, going 9-2-2 (25 GF-11 GA) overall and an astounding and perfect 7-0-0 (15 GF-2 GA) here in Carson. That’s right 15 Goals For (the Galaxy) and just 2 (for the Caps). But this is the best this Vancouver Whitecaps team has been, albeit they just came into the MLS in 2011. Expect the visitors to come in knowing they are 0-0-7 and pointless in Lalaland against the Galaxy, and to push the pace the get that elusive goal. And with the Galaxy playing tight here—the last game at StubHub (Dynamo) was 0-0 in ET—and maybe a bit tired from a long flight to the Atlantic Coast and then a long flight back to the Pacific Coast, they too should have limited quality shots on target in this affair and Whitecaps veteran GK Ousted will be ready. The big trend says take the LA Galaxy here because of that gaudy Home mark in MLS play against Vancouver and it does make sense, but soccer picks placed on the total and betting the Under seems safer in what could very well be a 0-0, 1-0 or 1-1 game on Saturday night in Carson. It should be fun.

Predicted Final Score: Galaxy 1 Whitecaps 0
