Chicago Fire Soccer Club
In Week 14 MLS play on Saturday, the Chicago Fire (0-2-3 Away, 5 GF-9 GA) and Head Coach Frank Yallop shut out the 10-man Montreal Impact, 3-0 in Eastern Conference action at Toyota Park in rainy Bridgeview, Illinois as the hosts took a 2-0 Halftime lead courtesy of Harry Shipp and Jeff Larentowicz (PK) goals, and then saw Kennedy Igboananike notch his first Goal for the hosts in the 2nd Half, helping to seal the victory and break a 4-game winless streak for Chicago. The Fire are led in scoring by the aforementioned stud Larentowicz (4 goals), Designated Player David Accam (2 goals), Romanian midfielder Razvan Coci? (1 goal), Jason Johnson (1 goal), Shaun Maloney (1 goal), Kennedy Igboananike (1 goal), Joevin Jones and Harry Shipp (2 goals) while GK Sean Johnson holds down the Defense for the Fire.

DC United
Eastern Conference leaders DC United (5-3-0 Home, 12 GF-6 GA heading into Week 13) and Head Coach Ben Olsen are still undefeated at Home here at RFK this season and the club hosted the Philadelphia Union here on a very muggy Saturday night in a game which saw DCU rally for a 2-1 win when Chris Rolfe converted on an 85th-minute Penalty Kick. The Union had taken a 1-0 lead on a Sebastien Le Toux goal in the 5th minute, but Chris Pontius provided the equalizer for DC United in the 2nd Half as the club stretched its impressive Unbeaten Streak here at Home to 19 games. And the hosts really needed the Win and the 3 points, coming into that game winless in their last three matches and with just one goal to show for it. One big reason the Black-and-Red top the conference is that they have sensational GK Bill Hamid (44 Saves, 9 Goals Conceded) and have allowed the least goals (12) in the Eastern Conference of the MLS so far this season. Often-overlooked DC United is led on the attack by Chris Rolfe (4 goals), Jairo Arrieta (3 goals) and Perry Kitchen (2 goals).

Current Form, Series Trends, Conclusions
Lifetime in this series, hosts DC United are a somewhat anemic 18-15-23 (72 GF-88 GA) in MLS play against the Chicago Fire, and just 9-8-12 (37 GF-45 GA) here at Home at RFK against the kickers from the Windy City. DC United (Current Form: WDWLDLW) comes in here with an incredible 19-game unbeaten streak at Home while the Fire (Current Form: WWLLDDW) actually have just one Win in their L5 games (1-2-2). Trendwise in this series, the L5 games have all gone Over the Total (DC 2-1 CHI, CHI 3-3 DC, DC 2-2 CHI, DC 0-3, CHI 4-0)—with a total of 20 goals being scored (4.0 gpg)—as have have 7 of the L9. And the popular soccer picks on Proposition Odds for Both Teams To Score (and the ‘Yes’) may be worth a look here when MLS betting odds come out both teams have tallied in 8 of the L10 meetings in MLS play. And, of note: The MLS itself had a nice little run of 12 Unders in 13 games, with only the Montreal Impact-FC Dallas game on May 23 creeping over the posted 2½-goal Total.
