After a profitable 6-1 weekend in which we nailed prefect two scores in MLS Week 16 in this little corner of Cyberspace, it’s back to the Soccer grindstone to handicap and cherry pick from three of the four Wednesday matches to be played

Wednesday, June 21, 2017Portland Timbers at Minnesota United FC

It’s the first day of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere and Fanendo Adi and the 2015 MLS champion Timbers head to The Land of 10,000 Lakes to face Christian Ramirez (8 goals) and expansion side Minnesota United FC in this match from TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Wednesday night. With Kevin Molino and MNUFC struggling in Form lately, in last place in the Western Conference, 0-3 its L3 overall in all competitions and being shut out by SKC twice as well as in its last match at RSL (1-0)—being outscored 9-0 in the process—this club is showing some holes but will at least be glad to be playing this one in Minnesota. Backing the talented Diego Valeri and the Timbers is the Side pick here with Portland having already flattened MNUFC in the Rose City, 5-1, in the first meeting ever between these two franchises six weeks ago on May 3. With six scored in that meeting, Portland (14/1 to win MLS, Intertops) Road games averaging 3.71 gpg and MNUFC (100/1 to win MLS, Intertops) Home matches averaging a robust 3.86 gpg, backing the Total Over 2½ and paying the juice seems like the wisest approach. It will be hot and there should be goals.

Final Score Prediction: Minnesota United 1 Timbers 3MLS Picks: Timbers +200 & Over 2½Best Lines Offered: at Bet365 & 5Dimes

LA Galaxy at Colorado Rapids

Tenth-place Colorado (5-1-8, 14 GF-19 GA) plays host to the 7th-place LA Galaxy (5-4-5, 21 GF-21 GA) on Wednesday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Authority Park in Commerce City (MLS LIVE, Altitude, Spectrum SportsNet, Time Warner SN) in this MLS Week 17 Western Conference fixture between two clubs having trouble producing goals this 2017 MLS Regular Season. A look at the L5 Regular Season meetings in this series (LA 1-0 COL, LA 1-1 COL, LA 0-0 COL, COL 1-0 LA, COL 1-3 LA) shows the L3 matches have been played in La La Land, four straight Unders in games averaging 1.25 gpg with the LA Galaxy 2-2-1 against Colorado. A deeper handicapping dive reveals the Rapids are 20-5-14 (W-D-L) lifetime (MLS) vs. the Galaxy (47 GF-44 GA). With LA (4-1-2, 14 GF-11 GA) solid on the Road, we may see a stalemate for awhile here in the Altitude of the Rocky Mountains on what should be a hot and possible wet Summer night in suburban Denver (Thunderstorms possible, Low 66°). With Romain Alessandrini (7 goals) and the Galaxy (12/1 to win MLS, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook) no longer looking like the powerhouse they once were and GK Tim Howard and the Rapids (50/1 to win MLS, Intertops) seemingly an Under team (2.38 gpg Home), arriving at a betting opinion on the Total is tricky here and buyer beware as 6 of the L7 Rapids Home games in all competitions have gone Over (2.875 gpg). With Colorado needing the win and playing well at Home (WWWW), backing Dominique Badji (4 goals), Kevin Doyle (3 goals) and the hosts is the pick.

Final Score Prediction: Rapids 2 LA Galaxy 1Free MLS Picks: Rapids +105 & Over 2½Best Lines Offered: at BetPhoenix & WagerWeb

Orlando City SC at Seattle Sounders FC

Cyle Larin (8 goals), Kaká (3 goals) and Orlando City (7-4-5, 19 GF-21 GA) head 3,074 miles and three Time Zones west to CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Wednesday night (MLS LIVE, TV27, JOEtv) to play Clint Dempsey (4 goals) and

the 7th-place Sounders (5-4-2, 19 GF-24 GA) in an inter-conference showdown important to both clubs. With OCSC just expanding into the MLS in 2015, these two sides have only met twice with the Sounders capturing the lone meeting here in the Emerald City, 4-0 in the first meeting between the two with Seattle also winning the second meeting, 4-1 in the Sunshine State last season. So, two games, two Sounders wins and Overs with exactly 4 goals scored in each. With Stefan Frei in goals for thee defending MLS champions and hosts and OCSC (16/1 to win 2017 MLS Cup, Intertops) poor on the Road (1-1-4, 4 GF-11 GA), the Lions only mustering 4 Road goals in 6 matches and having to travel so far and play in a match which will end well after Midnight in thier EDT Body Clocks, backing Nicolás Lodeiro (4 goals) and the Sounders (15/1 to win MLS Cup, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook) is the logical pick in this one.

Final Score Prediction: Sounders 2 Orlando City 0MLS Pick: Sounders -167Best Line Offered: at BetMania
