It all depends on which sportsbook you're checking out, but everywhere you look you'll find the Whitecaps favored in the soccer odds.
They can be backed at a price of +110 or so, while the visiting Sounders are at +220 to get the three points. A draw is roughly +215.
The Whitecaps didn't enjoy the best of starts to their 2013 campaign, but thesy've really stepped it up a notch over the past three weeks or so.
Vancouver has now gone unbeaten in four straight matches, a run that includes victories over New England (4-3), Chivas (3-1), and DC United (1-0).
During the week the Whitecaps held Sporting Kansas City to a 1-1 draw away from home. KC got on the score-sheet first but Vancouver responded 10 minutes later, with none other than Camilo Sanvezzo getting one in the back of the net to tie things up.
It's pretty amazing what Sanvezzo has been doing. He's scored seven goals in his past five matches, including a couple braces against Chivas and Seattle. With 10 goals overall, Sanvezzo is just one behind the league-leading scorer, Marco Di Vaio.
Vancouver has also gotten nice contributions from Kenny Miller in his second season in the MLS. He's scored five times in eight appearances.
Though the Sounders are third-from-last in the conference table, they do have a few matches to make up which will surely help them rocket up the standings.
As of now they've got seven wins, three draws, and five losses through 15 fixtures, while recording a goal-differential of plus-four.
The week has been successful for Seattle so far after they were able to hold off DC United in a 2-0 win at home. Obafemi Martins scored both goals in a win where legitimate goalscoring opportunities were hard to find.
It hasn't taken very long for Martins to make his mark in America. After moving over from Levante, he's been an instant success, scoring six goals in seven league matches, while also adding one assist to his tally.
The Sounders have also gotten four goals each from Eddie Johnson and Lamar Neagle, while Brad Evans leads the team with four assists.
These two sides met up just last month and the Sounders were able to emerge as 3-2 victors. Sanvezzo got the Whitecaps off to a great start with two early goals, but the Sounders bounced back and scored twice in the last twenty minutes.
Vancouver surely remembers that match well and will try to return the favor on their home turf.
And we think they'll do just that. The Whitecaps are in the better overall form right now and have been mighty impressive at home this season. They've still yet to lose in their own stadium (five wins, three draws), so we're recommending a play on Vancouver for our weekend MLS soccer picks.
