Two of the best teams in Major League Soccer face off here in what promises to be a good match. William Hill's Lee Phelps has a free betting pick from the odds on offer

New England versus Vancouver pits two of the best teams from both divisions in an interesting battle, with the form lines favoring the Canadians.

New England Revolution
It is three defeats in four in the MLS for the Revolution, with the latest coming at Columbus Crew.

That left them a full 10 points behind leaders DC United and has left pundit questioning their credentials. It’s worth pointing out that all of those losses were on the road and against decent teams in Portland Timbers (fourth in the Western Conference), DC United (top of the Eastern Conference) and Columbus Crew (fifth in the Eastern Conference).

The home form shows just one defeat in all competitions all season (4-5-0 in the league) when they lost in the Cup last time out. Even with that poor road run, they’re still second and will be happy to be home again.

Vancouver Whitecaps
Vancouver are joint top of the Western Conference and are in the middle on a fine run of away form, having won at New York and LA Galaxy.

This is the last of their five match away roster and it may be too much to ask for a third win on the spin, they did lose the first two games of the schedule at Colorado and Montreal.

Soccer picks
I can see the home team looking to ensure they do not lose this game, but I’m not sure they have the confidence or form to go for the win against a Vancouver team who are flying.

Similarly the travel and the fact this is the last away game of that run may well mean the Caps are happy with a point too.

Both teams have consistent scoring records in their home and away games this season, so anyone looking for a bigger price could look at the draw and both teams to score. The plain old draw is enough for me here.
