The upstart Vancouver Whitecaps welcome upstart FC Dallas to BC Place in Vancouver on Saturday evening for this Western Conference MLS Week 25 showdown. With the Whitecaps a little better on the Road then they are here at Home, is this a good opportunity to take a chance on the live Underdogs from the Lone Star State? Or will Octavio Rivero and the host Whitecaps dispose of FC Dallas in this series which has recently seen the Home teams hold the upper hand and unbeaten over the L8? Let’s investigate and come up with a pick or two.

Odds Overview
FC Dallas at Vancouver Whitecaps [Saturday, 22 at 10 p.m ET/7 p.m. PT] (TSN1, MLS Live) This must-see Week 25 Western Conference fixture sees the 2nd-place Vancouver Whitecaps (13-3-9, 37 GF-26 GA) hosting now 5th-place FC Dallas (11-5-7, 32 GF-27 GA) at BC Place in Vancouver on Saturday night in what should be a tight and exciting contest between two of the hottest clubs in the league right now. MLS odds makers here have made host Vancouver -110 favorites, visiting FC Dallas +280 Underdogs with the Draw priced at at +229 (bet365). The Total Goals in this weekend fixture is 2½, with the Over and Under both juiced at -111 (bet365). Some Props wagers for this game from the a city protected by that slippery Lake Okanagan lake monster, Ogopogo: Both Teams To Score: ‘Yes’ -150, ‘No’ -111 (Stan James); Team To Score First: Whitecaps -162, FC Dallas +150, No Goals +1000 (bet365) and, Draw No Bet: Whitecaps -250, FC Dallas +175 (bet365).

FC Dallas
FC Dallas (3-3-5 Away, 32 GF-27 GA) has had a nice last couple of months and in their last game in Week 24 against the LA Galaxy at Home, FC Dallas fell to the LA Galaxy, 2-1 as Robbie Keane scored twice for the visitors who earned only their second Road win of the MLS season. On the attack FC Dallas is led by Fabian Castillo (8 goals), Blas Pérez (5 goals), Mauro Diaz (5 goals), Testro Akindele (3 goals) and Ryan Hollinshead (2 goals) and this will be the first meeting of the season between these two, believe it or not (the two will play on Oct. 7 and Oct. 14). With GK Dan Kennedy, FC Dallas (10/1 to win MLS Cup, BetVictor) can hang with anyone but here on the road at BC Place against the high-flying Whitecaps (127 Shots on Target) and their own stellar GK, Dane David Ousted, FC Dallas (89 Shots on Target) will really be put to the test.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC
The Vancouver Whitecaps (6-1-4 Home, 20 GF-13 GA) are the best Road team in the MLS this season and but in their last game, the Whitecaps saw Sporting Kansas City rally for three late goals to top Vancouver, 4-3 at Sporting Park on Saturday night has to make fans and sports gamblers  alike really appreciate what this team has done, and is doing (Vancouver closed as +280 underdogs, 5Dimes). As we have chirped about here, there and everywhere, snagging an MLS Cup Futures bets in on Vancouver (8/1 to win MLS Cup, BetVictor) right about now still seems Wise, even the number down for last week’s 12/1 to the 8/1 it sits at now. On the attack Vancouver is led by 23-year-old Uruguayan striker Octavio Rivero (9 goals), Matias Laba (4 goals), Kekuta Manneh (6 goals)—who had the first 2 goals in the Whitecaps wonderful win last Saturday at SKC—Chilean MF Pedro Morales (4 goals), Darien Mattocks (3 goals)—on loan from Spanish La Liga’s Málaga and a very nice addition to the Vancouver roster and a player who was named MLS Newcomer of the Year—Cristian Techera (2 goals) and Gershon Koffie (1 goal). In goal, the aforementioned All-Star Ousted—MLS Player of the Month in June—is a big reason this Whitecaps team is atop the West and easily the best Road team in the MLS. These Caps are for real.

Current Form, Series Trends, Conclusions
Lifetime in MLS action, this season is as even as numbers can be here at BC Place, but FC Dallas has the overall edge (8-2-2, 20 GF-11 GA) because if its 6-0-0 (12 GF-3 GA) domination in Dallas. Here at Vancouver the two teams are both 2-2-2 with 8 Goals scored apiece, but the truth behind those numbers is that the Whitecaps were a younger, growing and weaker team in those seasons compared to the monsters they have now become. This Vancouver (Current Form—WLLDWWWWL) team can win the MLS Cup, but here against FC Dallas (Current Form—WWWWWLWL), it could be tougher than expected and this seems like it could be a very tight, low-scoring affair with a minimal number of quality shots on target and the first goal of the match possibly being the game-winner.

Predicted Final Score:  Vancouver Whitecaps 1 FC Dallas 0

Mayor League Soccer Picks:  Under 2½ -111, Whitecaps -110 at Bet365,
