NYCFC vs. Colorado Rapid
Eastern Conference leaders NYCFC (9-6-7, 35 GA-39 GA) start the post All-Star Break hosting the 2nd-place team in the Western Conference, the Colorado Rapids (10-8-2, 23 GF-14 GA) in the MLS Week 21 lidlifter from The House That Ruth Built, Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, NYC on Saturday as the league resumes with a full slate after the break. With NYCFC just expanding into the league last season, these two teams have only played one time with the two sides playing to a scoreless draw at The Dick in Commerce City last season (March 21) and with both clubs—Rapids (WDDDWD) and NYCFC (WWWWLWL)—in pretty good form, this one should be tight throughout.

However, with David Villa (13 goals), Frank Lampard (5 goals), Thomas McNamara (4 goals) and talented Rookie Jack Harrison (3 goals) starting to click as a unit and the match being in The Big Apple, the hosts should find a way to defeat Kevin Doyle (4 goals), Jermaine Jones (3 goals) and Colorado and playing in the tight confines of a MLB Stadium (New York Yankees), even with talented GK’s like Tim Howard (Rapids) and Josh Saunders (NYCFC), playing the Hosts Over for a modest amount at 2½ is the betting pick here.

Final Score Prediction: NYCFC 2 Rapids 1
Free MLS Picks: NYCFC +146, Over 2½ -116 at Marathon

Sporting Kansas City vs Portland Timbers
These two Western Conference clubs have played 5 straight Unders (POR 1-1 SKC, POR 0-1 SKC, POR 0-0 SKC, SKC 0-0 POR, POR 0-1 SKC), the last meeting coming last season in the Playoff Qualifier in Providence which saw the Timbers—eventual MLS champions—ultimately eliminate Sporting Kansas City, 7-6 in a PK SO.

With the game being at SKC (9-4-10, 27 GF-25 GA) and Fanendo Adi (10 goals) the Timbers (0-6-4, 9 GF-15 GA on Road) still winless on the Road and leader Nat Borchers (Achilles) now Injured and out for the rest of the season, the edge here and pick on Saturday (FOX (US), Sky Sports 2/HD (UK)) is for Dominic Dwyer (10 goals; Anytime Goalscorer  with betting odds of +120, Bet365), Benny Feilhaber (5 goals) and the hosts, with the current Under Trend making the Under worth consideration in the Totals market. SKC is 1-1-1 lifetime vs. Portland at Home (5 GF-4 GA). A great spot for the hosts.

Final Score Prediction: Sporting Kansas City 1 Timbers 0
Free MLS Picks: SKC -111 at 888Sport, Under 2½ Even at PaddyPower

Seattle Sounders vs. LA Galaxy
The Seattle Sounders (6-2-12, 20 GF-27 GA) welcome Robbie Keane (7 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +170, Paddy Power) and the LA Galaxy (9-8-3, 34 GF-19 GA) to the Emerald City this weekend for a big match for All-Stars Darlington Nagbe, Clint Dempsey (3 goals), Jordan Morris (7 goals) and the Sounders (5-0-5, 12 GF-8 GA) who recently let go of Manager Sigi Schmid. The L5 meetings in this series (SEA 0-1 LA, SEA 3-2 LA, SEA 1-1 LA 3-1 SEA, LA 1-0) reveals no significant handicapping Trends but Seattle is just 6-3-5 lifetime against the Galaxy at Home at CenturyLink Field. The two big handicapping things here seem to be the fact that the Galaxy have already beaten the Sounders twice this calendar month and that LA has W4 in a row heading in.

Long-time—since 2008—Galaxy 64-year-old Head Coach Bruce Arena always gets his boys going at this point in the Summer so expect All-Star Giovani Dos Santos (7 goals), Steven Gerrard (3 goals) and Gyasi Zardes (5 points) to find a way to earn three points again against a desperate and struggling Sounders side under new management (Brian Schmetzer) on Saturday afternoon (ESPN, MLS Live (US), Sky Sports 2/HD (UK)). The better team on a 4-game Win Streak at 2/1? Okay. Count me in.

Final Score Prediction: Sounders 1 Galaxy 2
Free MLS Picks: LA Galaxy +200, Over 2½ -125 at Bet365

FC Dallas vs. Vancouver Whitecaps
First-place FC Dallas (12-5-6, 35 GF-31 GA) welcomes the 6th-place Vancouver Whitecaps (8-6-8, 33 GF-35 GA) to suburban Dallas-Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon (TSN, MLS Live, TXA-21, TWCSC-TX) for a Western Conference showdown between two clubs who would make the Postseason if the season were to end today. In the L5 meetings in this series (VAN 3-0 DAL, DAL 2-0 VAN, VAN 0-0 DAL, VAN 1-0 DAL, DAL 2-1 VAN), there has been 4 Clean Sheets and the Home team has gone 4-1-0 (W-D-L) and allowed only 1 goal over that span. So Site matters in this series which sees a Canadian team having to travel south to red-hot Texas at the peak of the Summer to play All-Star Mauro Diaz (3 goals) and the Team Formerly Known As The Dallas Burn.

So best bring a high SPF sunscreen, Whitecaps because the good people over at The Weather Channel are forecasting a High of 98° in Frisco on Saturday afternoon. And so much Hot can’t be good for the Over, even if the Tifway 419 Bermuda Grass doesn’t heat up as much as Turf would. Ninety-eighty degrees Fahrenheit—with a forecast of 56% Humidity—is 98° Fahrenheit (36.67 Celsius) and July is July and Texas is Texas, brother so this could be troublesome for the Pedro Morales (6 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +350, PaddyPower) and the Whitecaps (3-1-6, 14 GF-22 GA) who have scored just 1 goal in their L2 trips to Frisco.

Final Score Prediction: FC Dallas 2 Whitecaps 0
Free MLS Pick: FC Dallas -133 at WilliamHill

DC United vs. Montreal Impact
Fabian Espindola (4 goals), Alvaro Saborio (4 goals), Patrick Nyarko (3 goals), Lamar Neagle (3 goals) and DC United (5-7-8, 19 GF-25 GA) play host to Ignacio Piatti (12 goals), Didier Drogba (8 goals) and Dominic Oduro (4 goals) and the Montreal Impact (7-8-5, 35 GF-30 GA) in a big Eastern Conference fixture between the 8th- and 4th-place (respectively) teams in the Eastern Conference and first meeting of the MLS Regular Season between these two teams on Saturday night (MLS Live, NewsChannel8, TVA Sports).

The L5 meetings in this series (MTL 2-0 DCU, MTL 0-1 DCU, DCU 1-0 MTL, MTL 1-1 DCU, MTL 2-4 DCU) has seen four of those matches played in Canada with 3 straight Shutouts (Clean Sheets) and DCU taking 4 of the 5 meetings (4-1-0, 8 GF-3 GA). Former Chelsea legend, Ivorian icon—who gives all $2 million of a Pepsi endorsement to build a hospital in his hometown? Didier Drogba does—and 2016 MLS All-Star Drogba (Anytime Goalscorer +160, Bet365) had a Hat Trick in the Impact’s last game, a 5-1 Home rout over the Philadelphia Union in Quebec. So with DCU finally down a little, it seems time for the Impact to get at least a Draw and maybe even the win in the capital city of the US, Washington, DC. Embrace Drogba. He simply gets things done.

Final Score Prediction: DC United 1 Impact 2

Philadelphia Union vs. Real Salt Lake
The third-place Philadelphia Union (8-6-7, 35 GF-22 GA) welcome Real Salt Lake (6-7-6, 30 GF-31 GA) to Chester on Saturday night (MLS Live, The Comcast Network, KMYU) in a big inter-conference affair for both sides. The L5 meetings in this series (RSL 3-3 PHI, PHI 2-2 RSL, PHI 0-0 RSL, RSL 2-1 PHI, PHI 1-1 RSL) reveals 4 straights Draws (!)—bi-annual use of exclamation mark—and a deeper dive actually shows 6 Draws in the L7 meetings. What can Brown do for you? With Chris Pontius (8 goals), Roland Alberg (6 goals), CJ Sapong (6 goals) and the Union coming of that aforementioned 5-1 pounding from the Impact and Yura Movsisyan (7 goals), Juan Manuel Martinez (5 goals) and Real Salt Lake (3-2-6, 17 GF-23 GA) pretty decent on the Road and actually an unbeaten 2-2-0 lifetime (10 GF-6 GA) in the City of Brotherly Love and Bouncing Soccer Balls, this is the perfect spot to recommend a Draw and the predicted 1-1 scoreline below seems to fit like a glove. Eastern Conference side Philadelphia has never beaten Western Conference side Real Salt Lake (0-6-2, 10 GF-14 GA). Next...

Predicted Final Score: Union 1 Real Salt Lake 1
Free MLS Pick: Draw +270 at BetVictor
Free MLS Props Pick: Exact Score 1-1 +650 at BetVictor

Chicago Fire vs. New York Red Bulls
The Chicago Fire (4-5-10, 17 GF-25 GA) play host to Bradley Wright-Phillips (11 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +120, Bet365) and the New York Red Bulls (9-4-9, 36 GF-28 GA) at Toyota Park in suburban Chicagoland on Saturday night (MLS Live, CSN-Chicago, MSG (US), Sky Sports 2/HD (UK)) in a big Eastern Conference match for the hosts who still sit in last place in their conference and who still have the worst record in the MLS and who have scored the least goals (17).

A look at the L5 games played between these two teams (RBNY 1-0 CHI, CHI 1-2 RBNY, RBNY 3-2 CHI, CHI 3-2 RBNY, CHI 1-0 RBNY) shows that the Mike Grella (6 goals) and the Red Bulls have really struggled with the Fire for some reason and Chicago has had pretty good success against RBNY in the Windy City going 17-7-4 (52 GF-27 GA) lifetime in MLS play. Maybe Deep Dish pizza is the reason. The Both Teams To Score (Yes) in 5-2 the L7 and this seems like a game in which the perceived better team will struggle with Kennedy Igboananike (4 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +200, Bet365), David Accam (4 goals) and the Fire being able to hold the 2nd-place team in the conference to a Draw on sheer attrition.

Free MLS Pick: Draw +231 at Marathon
Free MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score (Yes) -146 at 188Bet

Orlando SC vs. New England Revolution
MLS All-Star captain Kaká (3 goals) and Orlando City SC (4-11-5, 32 GF-35 GA) welcome Kai Kamara (3 goals) and the New England Revolution to the Citrus Bowl on Saturday (MLS Live, CSN-New England, TV27) for an Eastern Conference showdown between the 7th- and 6th-place teams in the conference so OCSC (23 points) can tie NE (26 points) with a Win here in the Sunshine State.

With OCSC just coming into the league last season, these two teams have only met four times (NE 2-2 ORL, ORL 2-2 NE, NE 3-0 ORL, ORL 2-2 NE), so 75% of the games have been 2-2 Draws so goals have been aplenty and all 4 meetings went Over. With 2016 MLS Rookie of the Year and All-Star Cyle Larin (10 goals), Kevin Molino and Kaká and the prolific Kamara (3 goals, Anytime Goalscorer +175, Bet365), Lee Nguyen (5 goals), there should be 3 goals scored the warmer Weather but with the Revs 1-4-5 on the Road (12 GF-22 GA on Road) and Orlando able to tie New England on points, the Home team seems like the best lean here and this one also seems like a Draw is capable. Tread lightly with this one.

Final Score Prediction: Orlando City SC 2 Revolution 1
Free MLS Props Pick: Both Teams To Score (Yes) -160 at 188Bet

Toronto FC vs. Columbus
Sebastian Giovinco (11 goals, Anytime Goalscorer -110, Bet365) and Toronto FC (7-6-7, 25 GF-23 GA) play host to Ola Kamara (10 goals, Anytime Goalscorer +275, Bet365) and the Columbus Crew (3-10-7, 26 GF-32 GA) on Saturday evening (MLS Live, SN360, TWCSC-Ohio, CW Columbus) in a big Eastern Conference fixture for both sides. In the L5 meetings in this series (CLB 1-1 TOR, TOR 0-0 CLB, TOR 0-2 CLB, CLB 3-3 TOR, CLB 2-0 TOR), there have been 3 Draws and 4 Unders, including the L3 in a row. Being in Toronto (4-3-1, 12 GF-7 GA) is an edge for the Reds, but this one seems better approached taking the Total Under 2½. You can’t always get what you want.

Final Score Prediction: Toronto FC 1 Crew 1
Free MLS Picks: Under 2½ +100 at Unibet

Houston Dynamo vs. San Jose Earthquakes
Chris Wondolowski (8 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +210, Bet365) and the San Jose Earthquakes welcome Will Bruin (4 goals; Anytime Goalscorer +220, Bet365) and the Houston Dynamo (4-7-9, 23 GF-26 GA) to Avaya Stadium on Saturday night (MLS Live, CSN-California, ROOT Sports SW) for a big Western Conference tilt for the 8th- and 10-place teams respectively in the conference. So the loser—if there is one—will start the 2nd half of the MLS Regular Season on a real downer. In the L5 meetings in this series (SJ 3-1 HOU, HOU 2-1 SJ, SJ 0-2 HOU, HOU 0-1 SJ, SJ 3-0 HOU) reveals 3 wins by the Home team and 2 by the Visitors with Quakes shaking out 3 Wins. A deeper dive shows 7 of the L10 have ended as Clean Sheets.

The biggest two things here seem to be the fact the Earthquakes (0-5-5, 7 GF-19 GA on Road to be pretty darn bad on the Road while the Dynamo (4-4-1, 14 GF-8) have only lost one time at NRG Stadium despite being the cellar dwellars. So backing host Houston in this desperate spot is definitely the Rx and pick in the last game of MLS Week 21. The Earthquakes are 5-0-2 lifetime (12 GF-7 GA) against Houston at Home in San Jose but just 3-1-5 (9 GF-14 GA) in H-town in MLS action and this really seems to be one of those Home site dominated series. Bloop.

Final Score Prediction: Dynamo 2 Earthquakes 1
Free MLS Props Pick: Dynamo Draw No Bet -194 at Marathon
