The college basketball regular season is wrapping up and playoff positioning is beginning to really matter in the NBA and NHL. Those researching the betting odds have to make adjustments this time of year.

Those researching the betting odds have to make adjustments this time of year. The reason is the sportsbooks are starting to really inflate favorites versus non-playoff contenders in the professional sports and conference tournaments in college hoops are a different animal than during the regular season. Review today’s key line moves and like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (412-364 L145D)

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Chicago Bulls  8:05 ET   TNT
The Bulls managed to win their first game without Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler and those placing sports picks are revising the NBA odds to the point where they think Chicago can engineer another upset at home. The Bulls opened at -4 last evening and has of midday are down to -2. Chicago is more rested, with Oklahoma City having played last night, but the Thunder is 9-4 and 9-3-1 ATS with no rest, winning by 6.9 points a game. The way Russell Westbrook is playing, without those two guards for coach Tom Thibodeau, how does his team stop him unless they fracture his other cheekbone? Take the Thunder with your NBA picks.

North Texas vs. Utep  9:00 ET
UTEP is tied for third place in Conference USA and is striving for their highest possible seed for next week’s tourney. To do this they need to win last two home games after dropping a pair at Louisiana Tech and at Southern Miss. Those putting together college basketball picks prefer the home team to return to the win column and bumped up the Miners from -10 to -11.5 on the posted NCAA Basketball odds. Not entirely sure this will be as easy as it looks with North Texas 5-1 SU and ATS in last six, though mostly against lesser competition. UTEP is 1-9 ATS this campaign after a road outing.

NCAA Basketball Pick– Lean North Texas

VCU vs. Davidson  9:00 ET  ESPNU
Davidson is fighting to earn a share of the A-10 title and has to win out to accomplish this. Standing in their way tonight is a dangerous VCU squad, whose pressure defense can be very disruptive and they have already defeated the Wildcats this season by six points at home. The Rams are attracting the cash, down from +4.5 to +3. Nonetheless, VCU is not the same team they were earlier this season because of injury and they are only 3-12 ATS off an upset setback as a favorite. Additionally, Davidson is in high gear on a 7-0 SU and ATS rollout and is 6-0 ATS off a conference win by 10 or more points this season, so back them with your NCAA basketball picks

Dallas Stars vs. Florida Panthers 7:35 ET  FS-SW, FS-FL
This contest is loaded with juicy storylines which includes Dallas being flipped from -120 to +110 on the money line on the posted NHL betting odds. Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov was suspended four games for hit he laid on the Stars leading scorer Tyler Seguin, who remains out of the lineup. This is their first meeting since and Dallas is 2-7 SU without Seguin, who despite missing this many contests is still eighth in the league in goals scored. Florida will start Dan Ellis in goal, exactly one year after he was traded from Dallas to the Panthers and he is playing because both Florida goaltenders were injured Tuesday in loss to Toronto. Expect this game to be at a fever pitch with a lot of hitting and I’ll make the visitor my NHL pick only because of goaltending.

NHL Pick – Slight lean Dallas
