This Saturday in Miami Gardens, Florida, the circus comes to town. Floyd “Money” Mayweather brings his 50-0 professional boxing record to town to face up against YouTube sensation, Logan Paul in an exhibition match. Let’s see the boxing odds.
Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather
Sunday, June 6, 2021 – 8:00 PM ET at Hard Rock Stadium
How Will Floyd Look At Forty-Four Years Old?
My guess is, he’s going to look just fine. In fact, probably amazing. Floyd Mayweather has never been a half step out of shape in his professional career. That’s a big part of the reason he is 50-0 as a professional. I think Floyd will come into this fight looking to demonstrate his stamina as well as his skill.
Logan Paul is a guy who has only got one professional fight under his belt and that was a loss to fellow internet personality, KSI. This is as big a step up in class as one can possibly have in the fight game. Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest of all time, regardless of what you think of him outside the ring, or his fighting style. What the man does, works and it works well.
Does Logan Have A Puncher’s Chance?
People are asking this question because of the disparity in the tale of the tape. Paul is much younger than Mayweather. He is much taller than Mayweather and he has about fifty pounds of muscle on Mayweather as well. When you add those things up you might say well hey, Logan might not win, but he’s got a shot if he connects on one. I still think you’re wrong.
I expect Logan Paul to be swinging at a target he cannot hit in Floyd Mayweather. We have seen far better boxers, championship boxers, be frustrated by Floyd’s ability to duck and weave, and avoid getting hurt at all. He might be the best defensive fighter of all time and I don’t think those skills have faded to the extent that they will be exploited by Logan Paul.
This is all about trying to find a way to bet Floyd Mayweather without laying -1100, right? He’s not losing this fight. This isn’t even going to be a fight in any sense of the word. This is going to be a dismantling that will likely be quite dull, if we’re being honest. Floyd will jab and dance his way around the first few rounds, because he will know Logan Paul is going to hit a brick wall probably around the sixth round.
Logan Paul does not have eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather in him physically. I don’t care what kind of shape you’re in, boxing is a different animal. Connor McGregor hit a wall and he’s a professional athlete of the highest caliber. For my best bets. I’ll take Floyd to win by KO, TKO, or DQ.
