Barcelona look to stay ahead of the chasing pack in La Liga when they take on Getafe on Tuesday. Find out where the value soccer picks are to be had.

Barcelona leading La Liga
Barcelona's race for the Spanish title is heating up in midweek soccer betting markets when round 34 of Spanish top flight gets underway. As it is, the Catalan giants have the futures market cornered as the clear-cut favourites to clinch the title at -333 soccer odds. Their nearest threat, Real Madrid, are priced at much larger +250 La Liga soccer odds to win the title. However,  the exorbitant price difference between these stalwarts in Spanish top flight betting belies their proximity in the table, leading to perhaps a rather distorted picture.

To be fair, Real have as much of a shot to win the title as does Barcelona. Los Blancos are nipping at their heels, just two points shy in the table and riding a wave of momentum behind five straight wins in La Liga. With five games left on the season, the race is remains very much on and Real Madrid may yet have something to say about how it goes down.

Barcelona Must Win
Barcelona have a two-point edge in the La Liga table and in a perfect world, if they don't trip up in any of their last five games, they will win the title.  Just to be clear that predicates winning all five games. So no pressure.

Looking at the schedule, it's not exactly going to be a walk in the park. Up next is a relatively straightforward home game with Getafe, a clash that is wholeheartedly cornered in their camp on the soccer odds board at -2500 soccer odds to win outright. Followed by a date with basement dwelling Cordoba. However, after this pair of almost sure bets, Barcelona have a couple of dates with Bayern Munich in Champions League semi-final action, interspersed by a date with Real Sociedad. Then, once the European commitments are out of the way (and one had to  think depending on the outcome as well), they head to the Calderon for a tough match with defending La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, who'll want to make a statement, surely.  The last two games of the La Liga season feature Deportivo and Athletic Club, none of which can be taken for granted either.

It's going to be paramount that Luis Enrique's lads don't lose focus during this very demanding stretch towards the finish line. Getafe, who are matched at whopping +4000 soccer odds to win outright at the Camp Nou, present an important opportunity for home win that Luis Enrique will want to clinch. But it might not be as straightforward as the soccer odds makers would suggest, given that Getafe held Barca to a scoreless draw in the reverse of this fixture earlier this season. The draw is trading at +1600.

Getafe are sat 13th in the table behind a 10-6-17 mark and 36 points. They are seven points clear of the drop zone and, as such, most likely to return to top flight action next season. That's an important consideration for this clash. It means they'll be free of pressure and could play up to their lofty opponents, even try to take advantage of Barca's desire to avoid a loss in this game.

Soccer Betting Verdict
Barcelona are proven champions and pressure is just part of the territory. They have experience and, importantly, success in such instances. So it would be a right shocker if they dropped the ball against Getafe. Obviously, -2500 soccer odds present no value whatsoever to soccer bettors looking to bank on this game. Hence, take the Over 2.5 at -450 for a spot of better return on this game. As well,  both teams to score at +225 soccer odds smacks of the best value given the fact that Getafe scored in four of the last seven meetings with Barcelona.

Upset mongers or Real fans may fancy a small tickle on Getafe to force the draw at the Camp Nou.  The last visit Getafe made to the Catalan capital saw them force a 2-2 draw on Blaugrana last season. And earlier this year they settled on a scoreless draw. That's two draws in a row. Can they make it three in a row? It's a long shot, but definitely worth a small stake on your soccer picks.

Soccer Picks: Over  2.5 at -450 and Both Teams to score at +225
Bonus Soccer Picks: Draw +1600 at Bet365
