Elche began just a couple points above the La Liga relegation zone, and is an underdog in comparison to Barcelona, who depends on a win in order to secure the title. This does not mean that their matchup is void of opportunity. On the contrary, our tipster has done his homework, and has decided on a soccer pick sure to hold value.

Barcelona hope to edge towards La Liga title
By their lofty standards, this has been a somewhat disappointing season for Barcelona. The verdict will be even worse, though, if they don’t come through on their last opportunity for silverware. They are out of Champions League. They lost in the Copa del Rey final to archrivals Real Madrid. They are trailing Atleti in the domestic title race. The only shining beacon on their season is the Super Cup, albeit on the back of a less than convincing win over Atletico Madrid at the start of the season.

Winning La Liga is their only objective, a happenstance that is trading at +100 futures odds across sportsbooks. Barcelona trail three points behind Atletico Madrid in the table, on the back of a 27-4-5 record and 85 points.

Most recently, Barcelona had a disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Getafe. What made that result all the more disappointing was that Atletico Madrid had suffered a shock defeat to Levante in the same week. Their door was wide open for Barcelona to close the gap, but they failed to capitalise on the golden opportunity, and one has to wonder whether they might rue it when all is said and done.

Elche battling for La Liga survival
Elche are mired in the relegation battle in La Liga but with long odds trading at +1600 to be relegated. Soccer bettors could assume they are winning that battle. They are the quintessential long shots in this market: a stance that is down to their positive form and steady upward trajectory in the table.

That said, it’s a three-point drop into the relegation quagmire, so Elche have all to do yet to ensure La Liga survival. It’s rather unfortunate that they come up against Barcelona at such a pivotal time in the season.

Currently in 14th place with a 9-12-15 mark and 39 points, Elche are unbeaten in three of their last five league games. Most recently, they are after a 1-0 win over Malaga on the road and extending their positive form to two-games unbeaten, including a 1-1 draw against Levante.

Barcelona vs. Elche match betting tips and picks:

Granted Barcelona stumbled against Getafe in the last lap but that doesn’t change the fact that they are tough to beat at home. Only Valencia accomplished the feat when they beat the Spanish giants 3-2 at Camp Nou on February 1.

Barcelona boast an overall 16-1-1 mark at home on the season and they are enjoying a seven-game unbeaten streak as well. Predictably, they are the favourites to win outright as soccer picks, installed at staggering -500 soccer odds.

Elche, by contrast, are priced out of the market. At +1000 soccer odds, their ability to beat Barcelona at Camp Nou looks extremely improbable – a long shot soccer pick few would be so brave to back.

Soccer Betting Verdict: To all intents and purposes, this is a home banker. Importantly, it’s a must-win for Barcelona if they hope to give Atleti a run for their money and salvage their season. As such, it’s hard to look past Barcelona on your soccer picks. However, at -500 to win outright, soccer bettors will have to turn to periphery markets for added value. Such as Barcelona to win both halves, which is trading at shorter -188 soccer odds as well as the Over 2.5 at -275. Finally, with Barcelona’s defence looking suspect lately, leaking four goals in their last three matches, taking Barcelona and Yes at +138 in Result/both teams to score market.

Free Soccer Picks: Barcelona to win outright at -500; Bet 'over' 2.5 at -275; Barcelona to win both halves at -188; Barcelona to win and Yes to both teams to score at +138
