Celta de Vigo descend on Valencia looking to extend their undefeated form to six in a row. Find out what the odds are and what value soccer picks we’ve discovered for your wagering ticket.

Celta on impressive form
Celta de Vigo are riding impressive form down the stretch. Unbeaten in their last six – five wins and a draw, including an impressive 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in the last lap – they have the momentum ahead of their clash with Valencia.

Despite this positive run of form, Celta de Vigo enter this clash as the +350 puppies or thereabouts across sportsbooks. Clearly, odds makers aren’t putting much stock in it.

Sat pretty in eighth place, Celta de Vigo boast a 14-7-16 mark and 49 points. Ahead of Valencia in the table as they enter the final lap of Primera Division action, they are looking to secure their eighth place finish on the season at the expense of Levante (a point behind) and Valencia (three points behind).

Valencia home favourites
Valencia are tipped as the firm home favourites at -133 to win outright at Bet365. Overall, they boast a solid 9-3-6 record at home, which features 33 goals netted and 23 conceded. As well, they’ve won five of their last nine domestic engagements at home (5-2-2).

That said they’ve did drop two of their last three at home – a 3-1 defeat to Getafe and a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid. But both those matches coincided with crucial junctures in their Europa League campaign. The Getafe clash preceded the first leg of their quarterfinal tie with Basel while the Atletico clash followed the first leg of their semi-final tie with Sevilla and those soccer bettors that closely follow Europa’s second tier competition will know just how impressive Valencia were.

For those that didn’t the long and short of it all is, Valencia accomplished the improbable and overturned a 3-0 deficit to Basel by winning the second leg 5-0. They then fought valiantly to overturn a 2-0 deficit to Sevilla by scoring three goals in the second leg to go up 3-2 on aggregate, looking all but through to the final until a late stoppage time goal by Sevilla cruelly snatched the tie away from them.

Valencia vs. Celta de Vigo match betting tips:
At first glance, this would appear to be a home banker. Los Che are a solid outfit at home, having collected nine wins and three draws from 18 home fixtures, and finishing the season on a positive note is going to be important to their fans. All season long Valencia were determined to give their fans something to cheer about despite the well-documented financial woes facing the club and they’ve done that admirably. One more win would be par for the course.

But winning this final fixture on the season is going to be small consolation for all their heroics that came to naught, including the recent disappointment in Europa League.  Since exiting the Europa League, Valencia have gone without a victory. They managed a 2-2 draw to Real Madrid before falling to Levante 2-0. Those last two efforts don’t augur well, suggesting even that they might be a spent force.

Celta de Vigo, by contrast, are riding sensational form towards the finish line. That they are destined for mid-table obscurity hasn’t fazed them at all. Instead they’ve reeled off a draw and five straight wins and have the momentum that suggests they might be the better soccer pick to finish the season in winning fashion. The best bit, they strike an attractive pose at +350 soccer odds don’t you think?
