Is Irish War Cry Worth Consideration?

The Kentucky Derby prep races have displayed some decent contenders for the big race ,including Arkansas Derby winner and futures favorite Classic Empire (+450, BetOnline), Santa Anita Derby-winner Gormley (20/1), Wood Memorial winner and chestnut son of two-time Horse of the Year Curlin in Irish War Cry (+650), Blue Grass Stakes winner Irap (18/1), Fountain of Youth winner Gunnevera (+750), Louisiana Derby winner Girvin (18/1), and Tampa Bay Derby winner Tapwrit (35/1), whose futures odds have dropped dramatically after a poor 5th-place finish in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on April 8.

The post position Draw for the 2017 Kentucky Derby is Wednesday, May 3 (11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT) and will be Live Streamed on both social media mediums Facebook and Twitter, and once that running order has been established, Churchill Downs oddsmaker Mike Battaglia will set “morning line” odds on the race’s participants.
