On Friday, we make a short stop this week and bring you Keeneland in Kentucky for a new track, just don’t get used to it for free horse picks.

Normally, Keeneland race track is open in the spring. As we all realize, these are not normal times and for the first time in its 85-year history, Keeneland is running races in the summertime, having lost its meet to coronavirus. But at least we got something and it opened Wednesday for one-week and has two stakes races today and we will cover all six of their stakes races on Saturday to boot.

We also have key races at Laurel Park and have studied the horse racing odds at both joints. We continue to deliver winning results on the ponies and you can follow the action on FS2 Friday.

Keeneland Race: 5

Post Time: 3:18 EDT
Surface: Dirt  Distance: 1 1/16 Miles

Morning Line Favorite at Bovada: #7 Bourbon Resolution

Backstretch News: We have little pushback on the chances of Bourbon Resolution winning this race. However, we are putting our money on Title Ready, who could well be and who has shown more overall speed. The other factor we like is with #6, we have 6/1 odds compared to 3/1 on the favorite. Third place looks wide open and we will support Scars Are Cool, primarily because jockey T. Gaffalione will be in the saddle.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #6 Title Ready, 2) #7 Bourbon Resolution, 3) #3 Scars Are Cool

Longshot Pick: #4 Treasure Trove (8-1 odds)

Laurel Park Race: 7

Post Time: 3:50 EDT
Surface: Dirt  Distance: 6 ½ Furlongs

Morning Line Favorite at Bovada: #4 Dirtyfoot

Backstretch News: This is anyone’s race in our opinion at Laurel and we are shying away from the oddsmakers pick. We have settled on 6/1 choice, One More Tom to hit the wire, having enough run, and the top jockey in S. Russell along for the trip. Big Boots might win, but its history is littered with seconds and thirds and we are comfortable with that outcome. Victory Given is hardly the case but shapes up as the best of the rest.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #9 One More Tom, 2) #2 Big Boots, 3) #1 Victory Given

Longshot Pick: #9 One More Tom (6-1)

Laurel Park Race: 8

Post Time: 4:21 EDT
Surface: Turf   Distance: 5 ½ Furlongs

Morning Line Favorite at Bovada: #6 Midship Lady

Backstretch News: This allowance race has the biggest purse of the day at this Maryland oval. This is another race that has many possibilities and that is shown by favored Midnight Lady having the lowest odds at a rather high 4/1. Let’s take a gander at Glittering Judy, who’s off two galvanic workouts and has the best consistent Beyer’s in the field. Listen Up is off a meager outing, but we expect #2 to rebound. Pink Pearl puts out reliable efforts each time out and belongs at the bottom of the ticket.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #4 Glittering Judy, 2) #2 Listen Up, 3) #10 Pink Pearl

Longshot Pick: #10 Pink Pearl (12-1)

Keeneland Race: 7

Post Time: 4:24 EDT
Surface: Dirt   Distance: 7 Furlongs

Morning Line Favorite at Bovada: #2 Speech

Backstretch News: The $100,000 Beaumont Stakes, usually is held in April at Keeneland and is the lead-in for fillies to the Kentucky Oaks, the day before The Derby. With this year’s schedule revision, this race looks like the Oaks, loaded with talent. Speech is the favorite in this six-horse field at 7/5 and has done little wrong in her career. Nobody in this group can match her Beyer Speed Figures and #2 is our choice for horse racing picks. Four Graces is the main threat after a pair of 87-speed numbers and is 3-for-3 at this distance on dirt. Wicked Whisper comes off a wickedly good workout and is trained by Hall of Famer S. Asmussen.

Horse Racing Picks: 1) #2 Speech, 2) #3 Four Graces, 3) #4 Wicked Whisper

Longshot Pick: #6 Turtle Trax (12-1)

Keeneland Race: 8

Post Time: 4:57 EDT
Surface: Turf   Distance: 1 Mile

Morning Line Favorite at Bovada: #4 Raging Bull (FR)

Backstretch News: Next at Keeneland is the $300,000 G-1 Maker’s Mark Stakes. This could be a much harder selection with an 80 percent chance of rain, which would take this off the turf and to the main track. We like both of trainer C. Brown’s horses and are recommending them for exacta wagers. Without Parole has two Beyer’s at 100 or better and he’s 3-0-2 (WPS) in seven tries. Raging Bull has cashed six times in seven races (3-2-1) at this distance. Making exacta bets of 8-4 and 4-8. War of Will is the reigning Preakness winner and would benefit from running on the dirt and will have Gaffalione working the reins. WoW recently had a great workout.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #8 Without Parole, 2) #4 Raging Bull, 3) #10 War of Will

Longshot Pick: #3 Parlor (10-1)

Laurel Park Race: 10

Post Time: 5:22 EDT
Surface: Turf   Distance: 5 1/2 Furlongs

Morning Line Favorite at Bovada: #1 Dance Or Stroll

Backstretch News: We are siding with Bustin Hearts to knock off favored Dance Or Stroll to reach the winner’s circle. BH is 2-0-2 (WPS) in its latest sprints and has the most amount of trustworthy gitty-up. DOS is not out of the picture and has Russell saddled up. Bath And Tennis snatch our attention with two 78’s in its past two outings and third sounds about right.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #2 Bustin Hearts, 2) #1 Dance Or Stroll, 3) #4 Bath And Tennis

Longshot Pick: #8 Trixie’s Time (8-1)

See you back here Saturday with more racing, Good Luck!
