Injury Forces Daughter To Step In for Christie Brinkley on ‘DWTS’

Sailor Brinkley-Cook will dance with partner Val Chmerkovskiy in place of her supermodel mom after she tripped during rehearsal, shattered her arm so badly she required surgery.
<div><p>Supermodel Christie Brinkley broke her arm during rehearsal and will not be on the dance floor when “Dancing With the Stars” begins tonight – or for any part of the season.</p><p>It was announced Monday morning that Brinkley “suffered injuries which required surgery to her wrist and arm," that will prevent her from competing this season.</p><p>Her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, a Sports Illustrated model, has stepped into take her mom’s place in the ballroom</p><p>Video shown on ABC’s “Good Morning America” show Brinkley rehearsing with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy when she takes a tumble and suffers the injury.</p><p>"Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season," Brinkley said in a statement, joking about her injury. "Sailor joined the cast when I got mine … ouch somebody stop me, it hurts to laugh!"</p><p>Brinkley-Cook has had only hours to learn her mother’s dance routine with Chmerkovskiy but is determined to do her best for her mom, according to “GMA.”</p><p>"I'm doing this mostly for my mom! I just want to make her happy and make her proud," she told the morning show.
